Thanks to the DFC for making me speed up my purchase of Una farfalla con le ali insanguinate.
To save on shipping I bought the other 4 as well. Now I know what people mean when they say the bought something from Fabio at Soundohm. Ordered on Sunday. Arrived today :-)

Tacet is also because of an earlier DFC episode. Forgot how that sounds, but will play it in an hour or so.

When I ordered the tapes I thought I would play them instantly, but seeing how virgin they still are I am afraid to break the seal... I don't have both scores on another format. I'll take some time thinking this over. Maybe just get the vinyl and let these age in peace?

Had been after this one for a long time finally snagged a copy hidden in a lot auction.

Tomb of dracula anime bgm by seiji yokoyama.

Music to a Japanese anime based on the US marvel comic. The anime was a commercial flop that some suggest caused this LP to be particularly scarce in numbers. It was released in the 80's but has a more 70's sound to it.
Sod's law being a record in limited quantities it's also rather awesome.
The clip below for some reason is of only one channel of the stereo mix, it still sounds good but is much better in stereo.

Start of the stuff I picked up while at fantastic fest. The phantasm is a new issue with a foil stamped cover and silver vinyl. (Havnt opened it yet.) anyone hear how many of these they pressed?

...that sweet feeling when digging in the fifty cent loose 45 bins turns up some decent finds. A few are rougher than I'd like, especially bummed about the mostly shredded Little Johnny Taylor on Galaxy Records which I always look for and never find!

Grabbed three Fame singles, BB King on Kent and Bluesway, jungle fever, rinder & Lewis, Motown/polydor/monument/Atlantic mono white labels, bill Doggett, Joe Tex, etta James, a killer Freddie king cut, very clean CCR green river, little jr Parker, Jimmy reed on veejay. Plus the etched Carl Sagan and the Lee Fields pic sleeve. Only spent $18, very pleased. Didn't scratch the surface either! Definitely headed back tomorrow to continue the search, I only was able to get through maybe 5% of them in an hour.

Getting way too hard for me to find any decent 45s, and they're always in horrible condition or way overpriced.

Soundtrack section was a miss, all Broadway stuff and assorted crap haha

I noticed our local dealer dude beat me to these, so I can't help but wonder what I missed! He's got "I buy any and all records!" placards on his car and shows up on record store day with empty crates and a dolly.

@deafmetal yeah some of that is from a shop in austin called End of an Ear, the rest is from the mondo pop up at the drafthouse. Its dangerous. I kept making my way by there and picking up more stuff. and then I had brought my other Phantasm LP to get signed and wound up buying the mondo print when the rest of the attending cast did a signing too.

@Cory - That Phantasm print looks pretty rad. Your pile keeps growing! Love those BTTF albums.
texasvinyl wrote:+1 end of an ear, best shop in Austin!
True, I pulled some great stuff out of there last year during MondoCon. I'm pretty sure I will end up there again next month.

Best part of ratty loose 45 digging? 50 cents a disc for labels like Blue Note, Stax, Verve, Fame, Hotwax, Stone Flower, King, Imperial, Fonit, Mankind, Kent, Checker, Chess, Ronn, Black Gold. Even found a 45 by the animatronic band from Showbiz Pizza

Worst part? Scrubbing the filth off with brushes, home brew fluid and microfiber cloths until my hands are blistered!

Amazing how well some of these clean up, and then others end up being frisbees.

Listened to the Showbiz pizza band one and that little "you know this sample" feeling came over me. Found it--

Original (Starts at 6 seconds):

Sampled by Lonely Island in the Popstar movie:

God that movie was funny, and easter eggs like this just make it better.
