i was not sure whether to post this in the jazz or the library thread. released on the Peer library label this is an overlooked sublime jazz album by the german Roy Ayers version known as Wolfgang Schlüter. it is the perfect album to recover from hangovers.

check the clip from the long ass Hangover tune which lasts for over 11 minutes. so good....

seriously in love with the Cabildos Three! had a serious tropical island feeling when i played them out yesterday night. i like everything about this wicked italian band:

- three releases
- spread over three mythical labels with nice paintings on cover
- consisted of three band members
- represent three different music eras but you get the certain Cabildos latin feeling on all three releases
- all three recorded in the mysterious Leo Franklin Recording Studio in Miami, Florida

Yuxtaposición (1972) is the most traditional latin sounding release. Cross Fire (1974) adds a little more modern vibes and Where Is The Cat? (1976 i believe?) has a little late 70's disco feeling in the music.

highly recommended, reissues exist...

can't tell how this DVD found it's was to my home but over the weekend we was watching this dirty little movie and i could not believe my ears! the producers have used the creme de la creme of library music in it. these are the ones that i was able to spot but there is a lot more and i need to find out about it.

some time ago i have read about Alessandroni cues being used in prono flics but spotting it by myself gave my brain the absolute record collecting orgasm, haha!

obviously the movie itself is not really profound but worth watching for the soundtrack alone...

the worst thing about it is when you hear a cue and you know you have it on your shelf but you can't remember which one it is. there's two that i have in my head since the weekend and i can't get them out!

if i had to keep only one Studio G record this would be the one, without a doubt. Douglas Wood must have been a busy composer considering his output on Ominmusic. i did not even dare to mess with this label yet, haha!

anyway, this one on Studio G is really great. super fresh and inovative music with lost of electronic tricks and effects. three tunes made it on the Studio G sampler on Trunk Records (G-Spots). luckily there is a full rip of the album on youtube. Moon Nightclub is my favourite tune. incredible melancholy space mood. doesn't get much better than this but i really like the complete record...

if anyone can recommend any other good Doug Wood records i would be really thankful!

without a doubt one of the strongest french libraries. gotta love everything about this beauty. the thing i like the most is that i was able to get the library version with the beautiful cover art instead of the regular french pressing with bald headed Mr. Geminiani on the front cover, haha!

but seriously, do yourself a favour and get any copy you can. the whole record is just nuts...

Love that Yuxtapocicion album and have for a long time. Also I tried making a radio podcast about Library myself with a more knowledgeable person, who made them himself on his radio station. It's not hard and they are highly enjoyable to listen to. Themes like - Panorama - underwater - Roger roger and teperino sound collabs. He talks shortly about the albums and mostly it's music on the podcast.

Does anyone feel Library releases are starting to slow down considerably? It seems like the hype is starting to fade.

Labels like Sonor and Four Flies are still releasing at a pretty brisk pace. I do think some of the craziness has passed, at least the prices on originals seem to be down, at least for certain titles. Others are still wild though! I guess we'll see. Still lots of stuff that needs to be reissued like the Musicorama series.
