A soothing blast of the latest from 'the Japanese Beck' Cornelius on attractive if slightly quietly pressed splatter vinyl...

(no pops or clicks though, which is great)

Mellow Waves it is called and it sounds exactly like that. Great duet on one track with Miki from the band Lush. ;)

In a mellow folky mood today. Is there any better day for playing records than a Sunday? I think not. ImageImage
I really love the new ghost box release. Reminds me of pale saints in places. Nice to see the label widen the goalposts a bit style wise.

Shite monday needs something edgy and loud. The Tuss - Rushup Edge, one of the best things Aphex has ever done imho. Image

Working from home for 2 weeks. Nice opportunity to wade through some Dead Can Dance bootlegs been meaning to respin - hopefully of some interest; I know a few STBC members are DCD fans. Some of these are superb additions. Some pretty average stuff too.

No Ozzy of course, but still some killer sinister riffs from guitar god Tony Iommi.

Dio is, and always was, a separate yet equal foil to Ozzy. Solo or mobbed up, RJD can hold his own with the best of them.

A sad day in the rock world when he passed away a few years back. One of the nicest most grateful people in the music business. I don't think I've ever read anything bad about the man. The music of Black Sabbath is so different between Ozzy and Dio. I think Dio was much needed to reboot Black Sabbath in 1980. The last two Ozzy Black Sabbath studio releases were just average at best. I always thought Sabotage would have sounded great with Dio because the band started to speed things up a bit at that point and kind of dropped the sluggish doom metal of the previous releases.

Dio or Ozzy a great band period!

Holy Diver is one of my all time favorite records. As much as I like Sabbath and respect them, I never really cared much for Ozzy's voice. I love early Sabbath for the music but if it was all instrumental I would enjoy it more, yes I know I'm weird but hey you have to know what you like right?

Any one around here into Ty Segall? His new LP Freedom Goblin has been in heavy rotation since it's release.

Image Haven’t spun this in a while and it still amazes me how fresh it sounds. So so good. Also the sticker still makes me smile, “Ltd edition No 7481”.

@Oiche

So gutted I never picked this up at the time, amazing album! I still hope to get a copy one day but the price seems to be continually going up and up.

Nice spins, Oiche. Budd and Eno are a pair of Kings. That new Eno box of unreleased ambient music composed for his and others' art installations looks amazing. Too bad it is eye-wateringly priced. I did recently pick up reissues of Budd's Serpent in Quicksilver, Abandoned Cities, and perhaps. They all sound terrific. Spme day I shall have them all...

@Dollarhyde - Its got to be repressed soon surely? Matter of time bud.
@Mateo - I’m eyeing that Eno box too. Best Ive seen is £150 incl post so will have to see... Was on a mission a while back to collect all the obscure label releases but still needing a couple. Budd’s Pavillion is superb though.
