interesting, I'm still over the moon about this release. the original poster art that they are using for the cover is one of my all time favorite posters.

Can't wait to see what waxwork's version is going to look like either. so psyched for this

Intrada announced today that they will be releasing Jerry Goldsmith's Warlock on vinyl this summer. An expanded/remastered CD was also announced today. DETAILS

"For this release, the original 2” 24-track session rolls were unearthed, containing all of the information that did not make it into the four-track units and allowing for a brand new mix from scratch, resulting in the first proper two-track stereo mixes with all of those previously missing tracks. The final results are an altogether different audio experience, putting on display all of those additional orchestral colors and myriad electronic effects. And yet there's more -- now there is also a wealth of previously unreleased music to go with the stunning sonics—72 minutes in all!"

Warlock Will also be available on 180-gram vinyl later this summer.

From the film's page:

"COLLABORATION
RUINED HEART’s unique score emerged through the collaboration of a diverse group of musicians. While Stereo Total, the berlin-based band known for its playful and eclectic music style (a mix of synthpop, new wave, pop and electronica), contributed tracks that give the film its psychedelic punk-pop-opera-esque quality, the subtle, beautiful melody of singer-songwriter Scott Matthews’ tracks “Carnival” and “Mural” creates a quiet, sentimental undertone. Other contributors include Bing Austria and his band The Flippin’ Soul Stompers, who also perform in the film, as well as the Mabuhay Singers.

ECLECTIC SOUNDTRACK
Aside from the main theme and the tracks by our collaborators, we have included an eclectic mix of music by various bands and musicians. One of the featured songs is the frantic, passionate “She Said”, by “backwoods surrealist” Hasil Adkins, who is known as the “father of the psychobilly genre”. Another featured track is Buddy Emmons’ ingenious rendition of Pachelbel’s classical masterpiece “Canon in D Major”. Played on the electric steel guitar by this exceptionally talented American artist, the song transcends any type of genre restriction of a classical piece and takes on an indescribably enchanting character of its own.

Soundtrack to be released on limited edition vinyl (1000 pcs.) via Staatsakt on the 27th of March 2015."

If it's the expanded release they put out on vinyl I hope it's spread over 2 lps. 72 minutes on one lp is too much.

I am assuming these are Dual Planet releases. I wonder if there will be Mondo/DW "Selects" variants like there were for the other two Dual Planet releases Turkey Shoot and Chain Reaction.

Well you never know ;)

Also these three titles are still RSD for the USA and have been oversold, the UK distributor is doubtful they will be getting them .

I've never seen "the day after Halloween" but is the font on that jacket used in the film as well..cause...ahem, not quite the same, but close enough that I had to look pretty closely at the "E"s to determine it wasn't the carpenter font.

:)

edit: actually, it looks like it is pretty much Albertus...the E's are only substantially different in Halloween, but not anywhere else..sorry, typography geek out a bit.

If you like Goblin, Umberto and horror synth bliss, I highly recommend you check out this new soundtrack release by Canadian film collective Astron-6. They are the minds behind The Editor and Father's Day, and are currently raising funds for The Void, which looks like some demented cross between Beyond the Black Rainbow and The Thing.

@goodnightcigarettes

Sounds intriguing... could just see an option to pledge $20 for a digital download on their fundraising page.

Perhaps one for a future OWS or Death Waltz Originals on wax if they're not doing that option themselves?
