Having now taken some time to adore and love these new releases I've got to ask... where can I get a print of the inner artwork for Godzilla.

It's not so much that I want to hang that on a wall, it's more that I wish to place it on an alter and worship it and possibly sacrifice model tanks to it. It may be my favourite artistic rendering of the King of Monsters I've ever seen.

Mine just arrived! Woo hoo, they look glorious.

No sign of the Andrew Liles album ordered on 3rd of July. :-(

I'm with you on the waiting game on three fronts flapdoodle! :( I don't have my matos (completed on the 2nd), my subs haven't arrived yet and my Liles album will get here gosh knows when (ordered it directly from blackest rainbow when shipping wasn't modified on DW and LITA didn't announce they were getting it yet either). Their site currently says "the courier has lost 90% of this version (I ordered), I am getting copies pressed again. Will ship as soon as they arrive. Please accept my appologies. A small number will ship to those who ordered first." ::sigh:: Alas, I am always having things come, so hopefully it won't be missed for TOO long. :)

I ordered matos on 7/1 and don't have mine yet either (I'm in the Midwest U.S.), so I think that's normal. I'm not even expecting my Sub 4 stuff for another few weeks.

@deathwaltz would it be feasible for future releases (or represses) to publish the original score with a "revisited/alternative version" played by other artists? I imagine Pye Corner Audio, Legowelt, Teeth of The Sea,.. killing it.
Sounds stupid cause these soundtracks are amazing and perfect. Please don't kill me!

@uxipi

Have you checked out the 'tribute' releases on the Cineploit label? If not you should, some great stuff among them, particularly the Orgasmo Sonore re-imaginings...

Thanks for the tip! I didn't know the label and yes, Orgasmo Sonore's music is incredible, great cover of Alain Goraguer's.

I was hoping OWS would throw Fantomas version of Rosemary's Baby on their release they do a great version of Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me as well on their album "The Directors Cut".

for whatever it is worth, I would (strongly) vote against adding any modern music to these orig score issues. That said, a separate release of this kind of stuff would definitely be cool, but probably not my cuppa.

I need a DW official "Halloween" OST release. i think DW could blow Mondo's version out of the water, with artwork maybe by Jeremy Wheeler, WBYK, or whoever. and yes i know a lot of you hate the dialogue on Mondo's version, but it adds so much to the Vinyl. "Halloween" being my favorite film and all just has me on a rant wanting some DW treatment. how do you guys feel about the dialogue in "The Fog"?

Yeah, I didn't buy the Mondo one hoping for a DW edition.
I like The Fog's dialogue, it's a perfect warm up to get into the OST's atmosphere, I mean, when you start listening, it really gets your whole attention.

I'm guessing the rights to the original score are much more expensive than 2 and 3 which DW did. It would be great if DW could get this one and do it without dialog, but I'm not sure I see it happening. I think I've resigned myself to needing to get an original pressing so I don't have the dialog, they've come down somewhat in price after the reissues.

I have a copy of Maniac on silver vinyl wight he blood splatter that I;m considering selling. Does anyone fancy making me an offer for it as I'd rather sell it to a proper fan on a great forum like this that on eBay.

Cheers

Having newer groups cover or remix soundtrack music isn't a bad idea, but I wouldn't want it combined with the actual original scores. Maybe if DW or whomever was interested, they could create an offshoot from their current label to cater to music like this....for those that would want to buy it. I certainly wouldn't, as I'm getting tired of all the Carpenter worship stuff out there...just recycling itself over and over. It's too much of the exact same thing for the most part.

Now Orgasmo Sonore is different from that group mentioned above - As OS has some really great style, and doesn't seem to dip at all into the Carpenter-worship. I love his modern rewrites of the Italian cinematic scores!

@ghostfires

Could you recommend Orgasmo Sonore? I have bought a couple of items from the Cineploit site from artists like Zoltan and MalaBimba, both played regularly. Though nothing as of yet from OS, mostly down to so many purachases coming along of late.

@baphomet

Getting off the DW subject - might be better to put this discussion on the Cineploit thread - but I found the following a great place to start with the music of Orgasmo Sonore:

DISCOGS

Wish they would re-press the first 'Volume 1' LP - currently just available as a digital download.

A little research via Google will throw up the three releases put out so far :)

Hi DW People .. I put this on the Godzilla forum but no one seemed to notice. I was told by my local record shop (I get all mine locally that way I can support DW and indie shops) to my dismay that their order for Godzilla had been withdrawn (something to do with the cover).

Anyone shed any light on this?

Cheers,
G.

I have one of the O.S. releases and recommend it. I'd get more, but I'm with you in being overwhelmed/tapped out by the huge number of releases coming out many of which are very expensive.
