I'd be lying if I said I wasn't very skeptical saddened by this news. I was holding back but the news of no more Subs is already a step in the direction I was hoping you guys would stay away from. Maybe in 1 year I'll bite my tongue (I'm good at that.)

I hope this doesn't suck. Here's my 2 requests I guess, though I'm not trying to say "do this for ME!" I just think it will improve confidence in a lot of peoples opinions on this transition.

1- No more random colors, that's a gimmick, everyone hates it.
2- Re-release Mondo stuff. One thing I respected about YOU was that even some special edition was sold out, the plain jane version was available for those who just wanted to spin it. No one should have to pay $100+ for Jurassic Park, the original Maniac, Drive, etc. It's nuts. Maybe change the color of the vinyl and the jacket slightly so those who do think it's cool to drop big bucks on these aren't so mad?

Anyway, I'm really weary but I also hope this passes due to Death Waltz's amazing track record in the past. It's just scary when the first move is so devastating.

Ok so the answer is if im understanding DW and mondo will ship stateside but there will be a europe distributor so the plus side - Mondo stuff will become cheaper to ship in and prob wont cost the price of another record, the negative maybe DW will take a little longer coming my way as wont ship from UK to UK.

It sounds positive ultimately. I dont want to ruin future surprises, and we all like to play the future guessing game and want all the answers now

It's confusing to me because I don't really check every single thread, post, etc. since I don't have time anymore.

It sounds like "we're not merging but we're kiiiind of merging, but we're not." So whatever. I'll just stick to seeing what shows up in my emails and try to buy things if they don't sell out in 2 seconds.

In the end it's tough to hear your favorite label is making so many changes. People have a right to be freaked out, it means they have passion for this and that any change, let alone one that seems so extreme, is enough to be upsetting.

It has everything to do with rival labels offering subs which makes the sub less special and soundtrack labels ever merging into one undefinable mass of vinyl.

This is aimed at no-one in particular...

You guys really need to get it out of your heads that Mondo is some omnipresent being hanging over DWRC, it isn't . I am super proud of what I have achived with DW and equally as proud to say I work for Mondo. I wouldn't have joined Mondo if I didn't think I could make both labels the best they could possibly be ....

The labels will have much stronger positioning at retail in 2015 & we'll make sure you guys can get product easily.

Why you can't be as excited as me and look toward the future I don't know. If I shared with you guys the schedule for 2015/16 you would freak out

Think we've all seen before Spencer has never let us down so I've got complete faith and look forward to seeing what 2015 brings us.

The only negative in my opinion with the Sub ending is that if i'm been honest without the last subscription i don't think i'd of bought 4 of the 6 having not heard them before.

As it turns out BTBR is one of my favorites of the year as well and to think i would probably of skipped on this if i wasn't on the sub.

With money been tight this coming year due to impending Wedding i'll certainly have to be a lot more picky about which releases i pick up.

Anyway thanks for an awesome 2014 Spencer and bring on 2015

It's probably because people here are such big fans of the way DWR has been run in the last few years, that a little weariness in regard to change of any kind is only natural - especially when the whole picture is not all clear.

But I am 100 % for it and excited if it means that:

1. DWR and Mondo will be two different labels that release different records
2. DWR records will not be more difficult or expensive (shipping) to get in Europe
3. Mondo releases might even be easier to get in Europe (how will the whole selling out in 1 minute be handled in that regard...?)

As for the sub, it was fun, but I can live without it. In any case, I look forward to what you have up your sleeve

As for Mondo, I have only good experiences - qualitywise and customer service wise. But unlike DWR, I'm really only interested in 50 % of what they put out.

I think we are all as happy as you are, I guess for a lot of us, DW is our baby as well which we have nurtured and seen grow from day 1 and now it feels like its off to big school!

Thanks for the replies on the situation Spencer. Good communication. I never considered the association between mondo and dw to be a merger I don't know why a few people worried about that. I'm very much looking forward to the next releases and if in the future I can find mondo titles at my local record store that'd be amazing. I might just as well get my DW releases there (as long as the deluxe versions are available there).

First of all i dident saw the "merging" with Mondo a bad thing, but a great opportunity !
Plus you always took care of us and never disapointed us, and i cant wait to hear what the future holds
But, stopping the sub was a shock, i just joined last sub and i was really looking for the next one, please reconsider it for all of us

Dont get me wrong, but i dont see why your sub would be different or other good labels either ?
You always make a top notch job and are already different from others, and also i dont see why subs are less specials, i thought it was more of a popular demands.
This is also what i dont understand, should the Community be united and provide the best they can ?
I think, but i may be wrong, you paved all this greatness, so why letting us down (that is how i first felt) ?
I also joined last year OWS sub and i will Renew without hesitation, because of the care and connexion with the customer and all the service they provide, iam also happy WW will provide such a service, especially when like this case we asked for it, do you see my point, i even thought Mondo would be offering one
Also, all subs seems quite different, exepted for releasing great OST.
It's all about unity and passion !
Also you say you are afraid of the merging...as you are the one again paving it, and i dont see it negatively, just an opportunity for more great release and care of the customer and for sub, the fanbase.
I really believe subbers are like a fan base, they are loving the services and care and feels like being really part of the plan, if i may say so !

Random drops in general are annoying.
Granted mondo records have been getting much easier to get, whether it be because they are making more or people are caring less.
