so you have about 8 years of his OST show on Resonance FM to listen to! He uploads almost every week. It's great for finding and rating new OST releases and more.

He's been vibing alot of Kirchin lately.
Hmm. I'm familiar with the Resonance FM show, but where does he upload it to? On my podcast app here in the States, I only get the (very) occasional upload.

I arrived in LA in the evening of RSD. Did not make it to any shops that evening. Tired as fuck after not been able to sleep on the flight over.
On Sunday we went to Amoeba records. Impressive :-) Not much RSD stuff left and definitely not what I was after (OWS releases and Bladerunner picture disc).

My companion loved the store and bought some stuff I had never heard of. Those young'uns :-)
The fact that I am not a crate digger was again established. If I don't know what I am looking for I get lost. I cannot focus and cannot find anything and get irritated by records that are to tightly squeezed together. Their soundtrack selection consists of a lot of wel know new releases from all the labels we love. But they seemed to be so expensive...
We went to another nice store and a lot smaller. They still had a copy of the Andromeda Stain, but it being the beginning of my trip, the record costing $50 and it not being at the top of my want list I passed on it.

In the next ten days that followed we visited some more record stores in California without much success. I just wasn't feeling it.
The day before we went back home we found a nice shop on Haight Street in San Francisco: Groove Records. They had a lot of jazz records. And I found and bought this:

So at least I got to take something home :-)

Love seeing pictures of record racks!
All three of the Amoebas are cool in their own way. Hollywood is gigantic and Berkeley is no slouch, but I've always preferred the SF store. Some great finds there over the years.

i was on a business trip to SF a few years back, I think i unwittingly went in there and didn't even realize it was Amoeba. very cool place.

By no means an expert in Bernard Herrmann - obviously know Psycho & and own the recent Twisted Nerve 7-inch... and read a lot about him in the book 'Scored to Death' last year where just about every modern composer I loved expressed a debt of gratitude to Herrmann's work...

To cut a long story short when I found the below trio in the racks of a local second hand record store for a fiver each today, felt I had to pounce to further my musical education. Plus had never seen a copy of Sisters in the wild before (though none of these seems particularly rare going by Discogs),

Love the cover art for each though... nicely evocative of an unsettled air

Hyper Light Drifter finally arrived! Happily surprised by no customs duty fees :)

It's one of the first times I've been reluctant to crack the cellophane. It's soo preetty, really!
Will unbox at the weekend.
