@static, I can't recommend Jaws 2 enough, I love Jaws but I think Jaws 2 is a better score all around. That said, I can't play one without playing the other.

decided on this before Dracula...

Happy Birthday Mr W!

Can't listen to the opening "March from 1941" without immediately wanting to watch the film!!

Tim where did you find that?! I thought JP was only ever released as a picture disc? If you ever, ever find another copy please let me know!

Hey @disco...

The movie itself is an Australian flick called Snapshot but was given a re title for the US. The trailer looks ok but the soundtrack itself is pure class.

The same guy did the soundtrack for Martin & Mad Max.
More on the orchestral/instrument side as opposed to synth stuff.

I really dig it.

back to spinning...

@static, I got JP several years ago from the online store Footlight Records when they were going out of business. Just surfing their catalog and there it was for $19.00. I think it is an import from Brazil. Up to that point I had only seen picture discs. I've only seen a few come up on eBay but will let you know if I ever spot one. I'm glad I have it but it really should have been a 2lp set because so much it packed onto each side that the dynamics are just a bit lacking. Still very enjoyable and worth having.

Having a lot of love for this right now.

Especially the class disco theme by Donna Summer…

John Barry - The Deep.

@discosucks, I have not played Orca in years, I definitely hear hints of "The Island" in it.

@tag, "The Deep" is a great one and anything with Donna Summer can't be bad.

ahhh, an original Re-Animator. How does it compare to the WaxWork re-issue? I have considered getting one but I am trying to cut down on my dups since I have limited space.

I don't know Tim. Since the tracklisting was the same I couldn't justify buying the WW re-issue. I'm also trying to be conscious of space and money when it comes to double dipping.

Day of The Dead was another story entirely :)

As an aside while talking about Richard Band's work someone NEEDS (DW, WW, OWS, some jabronis in their basement) to release The House on Sorority Row on vinyl. Please!

what an amazingly layered score. Goldsmith truly was a genius. That word gets thrown around a lot but the stuff he did was on another level.

Crockett's Theme is a stone cold classic. Top 20 synth jams from 80s in my book.

unpopular poet: I agree, and it needs to be played REALLY LOUD! It's the kind of stuff I play when I know that my neighbors are out of town :)
