^^I second this. Pre-ordered the Reanimator LP from Amazon and it never showed. They just list these things to make it seem like they stock EVERYTHING (when they actually don't). I think as a general rule, only order Amazon stuff if it's actually in stock.

@Disco - I was also just going to order the clear (I think that's the standard?) from Amazon but I'd remembered you mentioning before how Amazon were a little suspect when it came to the RA & DOTD so figured i'd make a trip down Birmingham way to Polar Bear & Milque & Muhle.

Sadly neither had had their deliveries from the distributer yet & I managed to nab a copy of the Blue/Red from a US chum in the end.

I love actually going to a shop to buy records, and the lightness of my pocket after yesterday's trip can attest to that.

Just sucks that they (shops) don't seem to get stock in until at least a few weeks after online release.

With regard to Amazon UK, they took a long time to finally deliver Re-Animator, but they were on schedule with DOTD. I ended up getting both from there.

Hey TAG - yes, Waxwork are through Southern distribution and apparently they're somewhat...erm...less than reliable? :) But I'm sure it will land before long. Much rather give those shops my business these days, the physical-music market may well be blooming but Amazon has been/is absolutely killing it frankly: you can often buy something from Amazon...which is less than the dealer price to an indie music store! :$ Well done on scoring the super-special version btw! Always good to have a yank in the bank ;)

How much did you pay for DOTD @raedarius?

Other people are selling on Amazon. I did order it but haven't recieved an email about it and since it's just out I don't mind giving them a week or so to get it in stock and know that if they do manage it, I will get it at the low price. There is lots of places stocking it in the UK just now, one would have got it to me tomorrow but they want £29.99 for it and then another £2.99 postage and they still have the Day of The Dead soundtrack for £34.99 so if they still have that in stock then after a week or so I've no doubt they will have Rosemary's Baby in stock too. It will be easy to pick a copy up.

It's unfortunate that the limited nature of many soundtracks also increases the price. I've no doubt it's a great set and worth every penny but the prices some stores are charging for it are way too high and the reason they do it and get away with it is because of it being limited. Amazon need to honour the price you order at so it's worth just giving them time because they need to look at your order, someone has to look at it and enquire about it and if they can't get it then that's fine but it wont go unnoticed. Someone somewhere will look for the distributors of that item and see if it can be ordered in.

I don't mind going to record shops but the fact is, what I want, record stores don't stock and it's not all their fault, it's just that what I want isn't being pressed to vinyl by anybody now so what I want doesn't exist and I know some of you on here are against this completely but I don't mind bootleggers. I've got a full shelf of stuff from the last year, all bootlegged, all black and clear and coloured and everything else you can name, all cheap to buy full of music I like because the record labels don't do it.

If my local record stores would have stocked Rosemary's Baby or anything like soundtracks I would have went there and bought it from them but I know they don't have it because anytime I asked about other soundtracks the answer was no. Apparently David Bowie 7"s is more important which is fine. Give the people what they want I guess.
[edited out my rant on postage prices]

Fair enough, that's interesting to know. I just can't help bashing the shameless tax-dodging c***s if I'm really honest ;)

Do we know which version will be the regular one available in stores, the frosted clear or the crystal clear?

The crystal clear ones are the ones in stores.

Piccadilly Records' product description seems to indicate that maybe some of the 500 variants have made it onto shelves...

All you lucky folks with the burgundy variants! They look awesome! I ended up scoring a frosted clear one. I blame nobody but myself since I stumbled around endlessly at checkout. Regardless, this is another awesome package from Waxwork. I'm enjoying this more than I thought i would.

Anxiously awaiting details on Creepshow!!!!

I want to see some pics of these other variants. I'm considering trying to order another album from them hoping to get one of these other ones.

It does look amazing. As does the crystal one - the contrast with the centre is great. I prefer the look of both of these to the red/blue split variant.

I don't mind getting the clear one rather than colored. The first time I actually bought one through choice was for an Eminem 12" single back in 2004 and that was because I wanted the instrumental and acapella on it and it still sounds great today and that's nearly 10 years ago now so I'm sure this 180 gram album pressing will last just as long.

I got mine yesterday, the 2 sided. Beautiful package all around. The pressing is nice and quiet. I want to know how they made this record. I thought for sure it was going to be 2 pieces that were glued together somehow but I have a little bleed through of color from one side to the other so that can't be it.
Very Cool!

Hay excited folks. Wait til some of us have our first copy before musing over buying a 2nd copy will ya!

I think the beauty of this one is that both variants are cool - and whichever one you get ur be envious of the other copy. Sneaky waxworks!

Waited all this time, ordered immediately after they worked out what was obviously going to be a problem in the first place with their website and overpaid for shipping only to receive a run of the mill clear copy I could have bought at a local record store. So lame! FU Waxwork!
