That is one hell of a triple feature you got there! That Fife record is great, and those other two, well nothing more needs to be said about those two :).

The guest is great all around. Score, soundtrack, film itself. One of my favorites of that year

As much as I would love to show you all what I picked up from a record sale I went to yesterday I can’t figure out how to upload pics. So I’ll just tell you what I found.

The Shining
Nightmare on elm street 3
Bullitt
Enter the dragon

I was pretty pumped to find the shining in the wild. Hopefully I can figure out how to post pics so I can show them off.

Jimmy_Mike I tried changing my camera settings but I still couldn’t figure how to upload the picture and I didn’t even think to download a resized app. Ultimately I caved and downloaded imgur but honestly that wasn’t working for me either. In the end Mateo send me this link:

Ultimately to answer your question I put a l at the end of my imgur link and boom goes the dynamite

@Bezulsqy does the Japanese one sound different? I too am a huge fan of waxwork. Every once in a while I send waxwork an email with release requests. So far 2 if my request( I’m sure not because of me) have been released. The Thing and the upcoming IT. I just sent another email a week or so ago literally asking about the Shining. My other dream release right now would have to be the score to Death Wish.

It is possible that it sounds different. But because I do not have any copy I have no idea. For me it is about the obi :-) Plus the music of course.
I have it on good authority that the original EU/US Jaws version is a difficult to play perfectly. The Japanese version has fixed this by decreasing the volume at the point just before it gets extreme at the end of side A. The Mondo version should be the best version out there. Apparently the Japanese ET soundtrack does the same at the end of side B.
This is what someone what a great setup and good ears told me. He had all the copies to compare.
My hearing isn't superb but my setup is great so for me it probably doesn't really matter much. I factor in esthetics a lot :-)

I am sure Waxwork will do the Shining at one point.

That would be quite the accomplishment. According to wikipedia: "The soundtrack album on LP was withdrawn due to problems with licensing of the music.[38] It remains only available on vinyl (there has never been a CD release) and is difficult to find.[39] The LP soundtrack omits some pieces heard in the film, and also includes complete versions of pieces of which only fragments are heard in the film."

Also, Wendy Carlos has not updated her website in almost ten years now and seems to live a very private life. I would assume she still holds the rights to her collaborations with Rachel Elkind.

No need to wait for Waxwork, Pete. Originals can still be had for a reasonable price. So can brand new copies of the more recent MOV reissue which I think sounds fantastic.

There is a chance I am wrong :-)
