@Texas: there's one thing about the Telefilm series that i will never understand. why is N.3 a 2LP? this coumd have been a N.3 and a N.4...

... but italian libraries are just not meant to be understood, haha!

unfortunately i am not too familiar with the Boosey & Hawkes catalogue [yet!]. have only one that comes with the distinctive UK sound. i recognize a ton of samples that were used by UK artists such as Blade or Lewis Parker when i listen to this one. would be glad if anyone could recommend me other rewarding B&H...

@milliondollars

I have a few in my collection, plus a bunch in the attic along with some unwanted peers.
(If there are any peer B&H completists out there hit me up, their free to a good home :) )

Will post what I have when I get a chance.

That one sounds real nice! I know about the electronic Tod dockstader ones, they seem to be the most spoken about. Definitely an overlooked label.
I want to get some Amphonic libraries, another overlooked label.

oh, thanks Dollar! i assume there's a reason why theey are hiding in the attic, haha! unfortunately i am far away from being a completist. have recognized that two Tod Dockstader 's electronic albums as well. these were reissued not too long ago.

Amphonic is a super interesting label, too! found some of the 80s to mid-80s in a bin but i would guess that the mid-70s ones are the ones to investigate.

anyway...would be great to see you spin some of those unwanted B&H slices...

@milliondollars Will dig in my attic when I get a chance they were all a bit rubbish from what I remember but tastes change with time.
Now spinning
SBH 3034 - Pop Jazz Themes by Dennis Farnon
https://www.discogs.com/The-New-Concert ... se/4533125

This is my favourite Boosey that I have, which is kept on the shelf.
I've not spun it in its entirety for a while. It's a damn good listen. It's very solid from beginning to end for a library, and a B&H library at that.
Lots of copshow style drama and funk riffs. Kind of like a boosey equivalent to 'drama suite' or 'feelings' !
I think this would make a great deep cut actually. Watch this space.

Imgur is playing up so back to the attachments for now :P

Huge haul of them sprinkled with some deWolfe and others in a local store to me:

Sadly this store is fully 'wise' to the game, and also famous for over-pricing generally :( They had plenty of gold but it was all 30-50 quid mark.

"Wise to the Game Records" -- gimme all your quid!!

I love that they put them out by color though, that's awesome. I've only seen that many libraries in one place twice, once was some American label with all-green and all-purple jackets and they were all utter garbage (at least the 50 or so I had time to sample on the store's turntable), the other was a lot of less desirable filler de wolfe stuff. Never Bruton!

always welcome to see some nasty Bruton spine porn @ScoJo!!! many thanks! a classic label...

will make a shot of mine later. only need like 3-4 to complete my personal collection. those discogs prices really do not amuse me though. it will take some time till i can complete it.

got some of them for mad cheap, this is why i have quite some of them. one little thing that disappoints a is that some of the red-ish coloured ones have a strong discoloration on the spine. but, hey....you can't have it all...haha!

This bootleg doesn't sound very good at all. High end is harsh, sibilance, lows muddy. Would love an original but people pay inexplicable stupid money for this record. I mean it's a good album, but $1,000 good? Come on, it just isn't. I think musica di puccio roelens and research of sound are better, maybe also lipstick and balance.

@texas

I'm curious to know how the og sounds as all the digital rips I've heard over the years have been of poor/limited sound quality.

@Texas&Dollar: without a doubt a super strong quality pressing. every RCA SP pressing that i came across was great by the way...

also i do not understand the hype behind this record. i mean there's like 1000 people who have this in their discogs want list and that just means something. i also like Balance and Lipstick more than this one.

I love the track northern lights but in all honesty that's the only track I remember from it.

It does seem to be very rare, also IMO its a well established Puccio 'grail' the first time I heard of Puccio was with this record.

don't get me wrong. this is a super nice record with top dollar compositions and arrangements. i just have the feeling there's records that are even better and no hype at all. for Puccio Roelens admirers this is a must, no question...

had to hear this one again after hearing Rock Satellite. Balance is another solid groover with a slight hint of disco that does not annoy. perfect laid back 80s easy jams. what a great final album before fading into obscurity! love the cover art. without a doubt, my favourite from the RCA SP series. exactly what i associate with watching TV in my childhood...
