Listening to NOTLD right now, its 90 something degrees and humid as all hell out there, but its already fall in my apartment now with this thing playing. I'm excited for the waxwork release, but this is one of those movies, like Evil Dead 2, where i will just basically collect anything having to do with the IP.

Because @Bez asked nicely.... :)

Purchases from a recent flying visit to Japan.

Even the back covers of most of these are knock out.

The bottom vintage 7-inch (main group pic) commemorates the 1972 Winter olympics held in Sapporo - and to my great surprise contained two flexi's!

Beautiful looking bunch of records you got there. I am very jealous of your trip to Japan.

There are actually about a half dozen more but I decided to quit while I was ahead since they're not soundtrack related.

Thanks, Evan, I am.

And before Static (or anyone else) chirps at me, I found the Commando, brand new, for $28 so kick rocks!

Had to edit the title of the third one... I have that LP and that 7” is on my want list ever since. Brilliant tracks.
On the LP you only have the two songs that are on that 7”. The rest of the album are planes flying and someone talking about the in Japanese. It is rather brilliant.

Also: @Deaf: beautiful additions!

^ Looks killer @mateo. Interested to hear what kind of a listen it all is.

So here's a weird one, which I thought might interest/freakout/appall some of thee.

I'm really not having a great time with LPs just now!

Received this from a Cogs vendor a few weeks back and for some daft reason didn't check the vinyl on arrival. When I pop it out today, I'm greeted with a bubbly, wrinkled Side B centre label! Never had this before. My first instinct, of course, was 'what a cad! The seller sure didn't mention that in the description!' and start gearing up for a return.

But I pondered it for a minute and decided to be bold - lifting up part of the bubbled edge with a hobby knife, I ascertained that there was another label, correctly affixed flat beneath the bubbled one! This now started to ring a bell - although I've never seen a bubbled one before, I have had a duplicate centre label situation in the past. I dimly recall that it just came off when I pulled it, revealing perfectly applied one beneath.

So onward to Valhalla (or more tears) did I forge, carefully removing about half of the bubbly label as an experiment:

As it was looking skookum, I proceeded apace, and fear not fellow travellers - I did indeed reveal un unmolested centre beneath the fucked up one, and all was once again right with the world:

Phew. There was great joy and harmonious wailing in the land, I tell thee. So what I have deduced to be the situation here is thus:

Seller graded as VG+ / NM-, with no mention of bubbly label. I believe this was a genuine grading. What he didn't realise was that there was the additional 'Mandingos Condom' centre label sitting on top of the original, flat and stuck down at this stage. Before shipping out, he gave that bad dad a right good rinsing, using the method and solution of his choosing.
Then packed the LP and sent it merrily on it's way. But unknown and unseen by human eyes, the rinsing was now causing an unwanted state-change upon the precious....and up from the ground came a bubblin' crude. (Well, bubblin' glue, really...as the second label disengaged itself from the surface of the more securely planted first label...)

Funny stuff! But at least it's a success story for once this week ;) And what's the most important part of all of this anyway, me boys?
