Niiiice @Bansel ! I remember watching this movie and ''A boy and his dog'' one evening, loved both of the films. I don't remember the music of the Quiet Earth soundtrack though.

Thanks @nathan, wow funny you mention A Boy and his Dog! Another favorite- the movie and the short story. I love any of that post apocalyptic/last man on earth type scenario.

By itself, the soundtrack is good but not ground breaking by any means. This is one of those situations where listening to the score lets me relive the movie without watching. A nostalgia thing I suppose.

I also love the theme to Fletch, so take every thing I say with a grain or two of salt ;-) haha

Francis Ha. Ordered off eBay, the only place I could find it. Seems the same seller relisting over and over. Discogs says it's a promo, but no other info aside from that. If anyone else has any information, I'd appreciate it. I'm most curious about quantity.

I guess the forum can't read the metadata of my iPhone photos. Click on it and it turns it around.

Went around the town of Chester today and managed to pick up these 2.

From one of my all time favourite 80s movies…

Runaway - Jerry Goldsmith

Soundtrack is very Carpenteresque in places, way more than I remembered, still awesome though.

And picked this up for the princely sum of £6

Brainstorm - James Horner

@bansel- I saw Quiet Earth at a babysitter's house (maybe on betamax) as skid and it stuck with me until I sussed out an Aussie DVD in the early 2000s. I was amazed how well it held up. It is a great film. Watch it at least once a year at mine. I'll have to get in funding myself a copy of that score. I have loads of soundtracks that provide some combination of nostalgia for/sense memory of the film. I suspect we all do. No reason to be bashful about that.

@tonyandrewgiles- Runaway (and my other favorite Chriton film, Looker) is pure bliss. I do have a copy of Runaway and its fantastic as well, but I'd really love to find a pressing of Looker, but I don't think they were ever made outside of a 7" of the end titles song by Sue Saad. I also wish that we could get any and all of these films on bluray!

These are Vols. 1-4 Semi-Automatic Records' Ecstasy of Gold: Killer Bullets form the Spaghetti West, of which the latter two arrived today. The fifth and supposedly final volume hasn't dropped yet. Limited to 750 copies each this is some of the best music of the genre. There are even several cuts with vocals! De Masi, Umiliani, Alessandroni, Nicolai, Bacalov, Poitevin and the list goes on. These guys clearly had a lot of fun making these comps and, since this is the only thing they've done so far, I'm excited to see what comes next.

I got all four in different spots, but. Vol.1 I saw at Aquarius in SF when I was visiting befriends last Fall. I'd never heard if it, but nearly all the cuts were new to me and I was impressed by the artists. It didn't dissapoint. Snap them up while you can. I had a devil of a time looking for Volume 3 after I lost track of its release over the holidays.

Near Dark - Tangerine Dream. I dig the cover and there's some lovely synth action going on here.

@Max & @Mateo - the camera work is all an app on my phone ;) And the record itself I picked up off a buddy in the US.

It's my 2nd copy but I'm going for a third and trying for a black/burgundy.
