Oh, I looked on discogs a little while ago and saw that sub copies were selling for like $185 and the regular ones were around $85-$100.

I don’t care *that* much about the colors, and mine sounds terrific so it’s not that big of a deal. If I could have gotten one for $30-$40 at the time, I might have swapped them out.

Just went through the same thing. $16 to pick up Profondo Rosso at the post office. $6 was actual taxes that were due, $10 was the DHL service charge for paying the $6 for me. Fuck DHL.

I would like to know more about this “bad plastic” in general.

I don't have TMNT, but if its the outer sleeves WW has been using a lot lately then you are in the clear. the bad ones are the thicker, oily smelling ones the type you see a lot of Pic Discs in. the ones that WW are using lately seem like just a thicker, stiffer poly. You can tell the bad PVC stuff from the smell.

thanks @Jimmy_Mike.

Got a notice that my sub NOTLD shipped today.

I got the exclusive NOTD from Newbury Comics.
1) There was a ding on the cover near the opening, unrelated to shipping.
2) There was no insert included.

I wrote to WW to ask if that version was supposed to come with an insert (it does say so on the hype sticker and the website), and they didn't answer the question and said they don't deal with issues with exclusives.

I wrote to Newbury and after a few emails they agreed to send out a replacement and I have to return my existing copy.
Not holding my breath.
annoyed by the whole process so far.

It's their record. What do they mean they don't deal with exclusives? Shit like that just makes me like WW even less. Their customer service seems to be complete shit. Not just on here but other places on the web I've seen people talk about shit experiences with them. I just contacted Data-Discs to see if they had any additional OBI's for Super Hang On, a record that has long been out of print for them. They of course offered to send me two for it at the cost of postage because they can be hard to put on and they didn't want me to accidentally rip one while trying to put it on. Meanwhile WW can't be kind enough to send an insert to a customer of a release that just came out.

That’s weird.
I’ve always had great luck with their customer service. I’ve had a few records show up with damage or really noisy, and they always send out a replacement pretty much immediately, either of the disc itself or just the jacket if it’s damaged (and I never have to send the damaged ones back).
However, I will say that as pleasant as every conversation I’ve ever had with them has been, every time I’ll steer the convo towards asking about an upcoming release (Beetlejuice, etc), the convo abruptly ends.
Other than that, I can’t say I’ve personally had issues with them. But I’ve certainly seen that many other folks have.

Anyone get their final subscription lp yet? Got the lp, and a dope tee...but no print. Curious if that ships later? And by "curious" I mean "extremely hopeful"....

No print either. Since it will most likely ship in a tube it wouldn't be bundled with the other items.

One thing I noticed that's pretty neat. This NOTLD release is a special 50th Anniversary Original Motion Picture Soundtrack & they assigned the catalog number as WW050. Well played.

That makes sense (shipping in a tube) for somethingof this quality. I'm not a print collector, the only experience I really have is getting multiple posters per IDIB shipment so I was envisioning these folded up, stacked, compressed.....I should think before I post Haha....

According to Waxwork's Instagram:
Re-presses and a weekend long Black Friday / Cyber Monday sale are coming right up. We will be providing details through the week!
Re-presses include The Warriors, Krampus, and if I am reading a comment of them right also The Thing. Maybe even IT.

Yeah I saw them reply to some one say they were upset that they won't be repressing The Thing with a simple response like "Don't"
So I'm not sure if that means it's coming or not but I'd like to get a copy. Although didn't some one else also release it recently too for much cheaper?

Not really, you're thinking of this, which is a different recording of the music from the Thing, the music has been produced and arranged by Alan Howarth and Larry Hopkins. It's great, but it's not the original recordings. I got a friend who prefers this electronic version to the original soundtrack.

Nate nailed it above, but I'd just add that the Carpenter/Howarth scores in general are never straightforward affairs. But the music is so damn good. I love having the Buysoundtrax release with all of the electronic cues used in the film, but I'm not giving up my copy of the Morricone score since it has all of the his original compositions including a bunch of music that was edited out of the final cut. If only someone would marry the two...

Cool. Although I'm tired of double dipping on soundtracks. Beetlejuice was re-pressed in 2015 and costed me half of what this waxwork edition is going to cost me. I should stop this "completist" nonsense.
