I just saw where somebody guessed Teen Wolf based on the colors and boy would they fit that, but I'm not sure the description would. At least not to me.

Ahh that would be amazeballs, have major feels for that flick and great Peter Bernstein score. I'd be very surprised though- seems like very few people have even heard of it, inc many who should. I quote Fisher Stevens character with alarming regularity.

"When you're cool, the sun shines on you 24hours a day'"

I'll take NIGHT OF THE CREEPS. Again, deVorzon (who WW are def working with) and it's a Carpenter-esque synth score. Plus this totally fits description/clues (high school comedy with scifi/horror action beats) and not to mention there has been a CD set of this previously released.

Ah, when I saw the guess, no one had yet replied.

Agreed this makes the most sense to my right now especially with their use of the #synth hashtag.

I'm pretty convinced this is NoTC.

More evidence:

- Dekker connection = WW previously released Monster Squad

- LaLa Land connection = anyone paying close attention will know there's a relationship between the two labels, with WW often releasing expanded scores previously available as LaLa Land CDs.

- Might be nothing but check colour scheme of the LLL cd sleeve:

The Faculty fits the bill in many ways, though I hope it's not as aint a big fan of the film/no recollection of score.

Weird Science doesnt make too much sense imho - nothing very Carpenter about that flick to my eyes.

I’ll be ...thrilled.... if it’s night of the creeps....sorry

Ahh my bad sorry, of course it was Mondo. The rest of my half assed detective work still holds up under questioning though ;) (I'm always wrong about this shit, haha...)

Ho-lee sheeyit!

I know they mentioned a gargantuan effort for this soundtrack last year or the year before. Four LPs maybe? That definitely looks like at least a triple, right? Very exciting stuff.

Mind (and wad) fully BLOWN!

I'm all of a boggle once more, imagining just wtf this release might entail (beyond one of the discs being straight repress of the original song soundtrack naturally...)

My main man Nitzsche, gimme gimme.

Could also be a full side dedicated to Barre Philips' Three Day Moon, which appears throughout. Might be a rights prob though as it was ECM originally?

Definitely an ECM joint. They are notoriously tight with allowing others to publish their stuff. Usually it's permitting an artist to include their own ECM cut(s) on a career-spanning compilation or the like. Still, you can stream most of the ECM catalog now so things do change.

What is clear from WW replies on IG is that there will be all of Germs tracks, presumably inc. unused songs from sessions that didnt make it into the movie. Also, when asked what will be on the set, they respond with 'everything' - so I assume that means the Barre Philips tracks will be included too.

"California punk legends (the) Germs – with just one album to their name – reportedly wrote six songs for Cruising, only one of which made the movie and soundtrack."
