Is anybody else in the US still waiting for Forbidden World and Ms. 45? Haven't gotten mine in MN yet.

My Sub. versions just arrived in NY on Friday, and I got a notification from LITA that my "normal" versions shipped last week (they're still in transit) - so I wouldn't stress out too much.

The ones that I ordered from the DW site haven't arrived yet, but I only got the shipping notice a week ago today, so I think they'll probably come this week or possibly early next. All seems normal.

My Forbidden World sleeve is warped too, but the record isn't warped. The record looks and sounds freakin' awesome, actually! (Note the liner note section that says there will be surface noise due to the condition of the original master tapes)

Did anyone get shipping notifications for their subscriptions, or is this just people that ordered the regular versions from the DW Store? My copies from LITA are due on Wednesday, but I'm still waiting for the sub copies from DW. I'm in the states, so I'm not worried yet. Seems like people have been getting their's over here over the past week or so.

Got both Forbidden World and MS.45 today. Beautiful looking slabs of wax! However, my copy of FB has the same issue as a few others on this board. Top portion of jacket is curled, and there are some small, but deep scratches grooved into the record that you can actually feel. Gonna clean it and play it later on to see it if skips. If so, I'll drop LITA an e-mail, as that's where I got 'em both.

Have all of the bent FW's come from LITA? I wonder if it is a result of the oversized cover not fitting in their (very nice) LP mailer boxes?

There are definitely drawbacks to re-inventing the LP cover! :)

I once had a boardgame that once the plastic wrap came off all the thick cardboard warped like crazy. I live somewhere with a very dry climate and assumed this happened because it dried out.

Maybe the same thing is happening for some reason? Maybe the board wasn't dried correctly before it left the plant.

my sub copy also has a bit of cupping on the jacket. no biggie but it is there.

My sub copies came from the UK in a similar mailer to most of my direct DW purchases even though I'm in the USA. Not certain if that's the norm or not, but it came warped as well. The vinyl looks okay, but I won't have an opportunity to spin it until tomorrow. Really looking forward to giving these a listen. Cheers!

my forbidden world jacket was just ever so slightly bowed, but once i took the plastic off, it straightened out almost all the way. the vinyl is totally fine. i am happy with it.

I have been getting in the habit of leaving my new vinyl in the shrink, but perhaps I'll change that. I do this more when there's a sticker on the shrink, like with the new Mondo stuff. Some shrink seems to be stronger than others though.

Jealous of all you with your stuff already, not sure what is going on with mine. Looks like my copies from LITA were just delivered this morning, so there's that to look forward to when I get home.

All our new releases going forward will feature an Obi. No sticker.

I was always under the impression that the shrink wrap should be removed from a record, despite the allure of keeping it on. Not that if you looked at all of my records, you would find the shrink gone on all of them...

sweet news! obi is definitely great!!

i may have missed it and it may have been discussed before but what about your heavy cardboard covers, will you stick with them?

@spencer - I'm not sure if it's a different card used for FW but all my other DW releases in the heavy covers are 100% fine.

Just seems to be this one.

My FW cover was bowed as well. The vinyl is perfect. I took off the shrink and put it on the shelf and I bet it straitens itself out after a little time being pressed flat. I for one have been a big fan of these new covers, especially the single jackets. I live a long ways down a really bumpy dirt road and have come to accept seem splits on the jackets as part of the deal for me. With these new jackets the cardboard on the edges is so thick, no seam splits on any of them (I got 2 each of Room 237 and NY Ripper and they are perfect). With my current sub the Ms.45 blew out the bottom but the Forbidden world didn't. Again I accept that as a product of where I live, not the quality of the product.
blah,blah,blah... I like the new jackets (and the OBI strips sound cool, can't wait to see them)

Hi guys, new to the forum, will do an introduction later, but I wanted to chime in about Ms. 45 & FW. I received mine yesterday from LITA and they look fantastic. Especially love the glossy shine on the FW sleeve. No warping whatsoever for me. Had them shipped together in the same mailer.

Also, enlighten a newbie vinyl collector: what does obi mean?

Obi is Japanese for sash, it's the paper folded thing you see on the outside edge of a record.

Ok, time for the geek question - stickers on shrink wrap - what is the favoured way of dealing with them?
Non-Gatefold - Open carefully, a good rub on the side of your jeans at the opening side of the record gives a pretty good result and them remove the record and inserts, look and listen and the shrink wrap remains in good nick especially if you store the whole thing in in 400g poly bags

Gatefold - on man here's the dilemma - - remove shrink wrap - sounds ok but I can't really get it back on again - store unfolded in poly bag with record or fold so sticker is intact or cut around the sticker and keep that as an insert- ok more of a trilemma!
