The dead don't walk around... except in very bad paperback novels!

Well well.... this is all very interesting and, if I'm completely honest - a mixed bag of joy and unwelcome surprises. The record itself has reached me in tip top condition, the vinyl looks pretty much excellent and plays flawlessly. The sleeve is solid, no OBI but as you know, I don't really care about them.

As for the downside... it's all about the release itself, and I'll go into it in great detail in a bit over at comparison corner. For now, I'm just going to say DON'T SELL YOUR DW/BEAT OG COPIES!

I still want one with obi. And I am guessing it contains dialogue...
Now over to the comparison corner!

Found this Vestax USB turntable at a second hand store for cheap a couple months ago. It's like *the* portable turntable, which will get a lot of use when warmer weather comes around. The thing weighs 2kg :P and it actually sounds good through headphones. Will have to change the styli someday.

Final Option (or Who Dares Wins as it was known here) is badass Budd indeed!

Can't quite show it off yet, but I scored one of my big grails today from Japan - an 'unofficial' 70s release (of 500 copies, so it's said) replacing a later 'unofficial' mid-to-late 90s edition that I've made do with up to now. Another little clue?

Heh! Someone up in here has a copy, I've seen it spun in the past - did think it was yourself @stat until you disavowed me of that misconception

The Psycho II is sealed. I have mixed feelings about that (I’ve gotten a lot of warped sealed records), but it was super cheap.

Dunwich Horror is NM and DAMN these OG Varese pressings are incredible. Dead dead quiet.
I have a hard time believing the original pressing of this could be better than this one.
Thanks for putting that one on my radar, @ScoJo!

Nice one! Yes, a well looked after VS original is hard to beat- its why I have stepped up my game on them somewhat ;) The AIP release of Dunwich certainly sounded good too, though I cant directly compare as I sold my own to fund the pricey mint/sealed VS upgrade!

Also, well done on that Micalizzi - it's a fab, underrated little release I feel. See how you get on with Minesotta, I thought it sounded pretty awful - like, mp3-sourced awful :-/

I guess I don’t have a lot of older VS pressings - the heavy cardstock sleeve and printed paper sleeve threw me. Never seen those on a VS.

And coincidentally, I spun the Micalizzi next - so so so good.

Minnesota is after all of the Goldsmith (currently on Poltergeist) - but that one was super cheap, at least.

Well, this is grim. I have never had a record package arrive in such a terrible state, and it's my first order from Poland (but I shall jump to no conclusions...)

This is the 2xLP Korzynski album direct from the label GAD.

Not in a mailer as such, but record was wrapped in card/brown paper (right to edges/corners of sleeve) then parcel taped. Arrived absolutely soaking wet, all packaging dripping and fucked. Even still inside its shrink, the LP is also soaked through/bent/tattered. No idea what state the vinyl is in, but cant be good! Im waiting to hear back from label before i attempt any further investigation.

Truly a grim postal surprise!

This isn't a corner ding youre seeing - its damage across over half of the LP! Eek.
