Another question -- one for Spencer, if he is at liberty to say -- is percentage of subscribers re-up? I'd like to get a subscription this time around, and I'm wondering if there are generally a few subscriptions that are available once the previous subs re-up, or will it be a feeding frenzy to get the few that remain.

I don't think we've seen pricing for sub 4 but Sub 3 to the USA was 200 GBP and I doubt it's changed much.

@ninja - plan on spending between 250-300 USD. It will most likely be somewhere in that range. The last sub was 170 GBP, which equates to around 280 right now. I don't recall it being more expensive for the US, just a straight conversion from pounds to dollars.

I'm sure I remember it being £180 for UK people last time (£150 for the sub and £30 for postage). That's already the max I'd be willing to pay. That makes it £30 per record, more for you US folks.

I am seriously itching to get on the DW sub wagon. I wish I'd been able to previous years, but it never worked out. I hope I'm on the ball when the link gets posted. I always manage to not see the stock updates Spencer posts until it's sold out. Fingers crossed!

I won't be renewing my subscription. I'm not fussed about the exclusive colours - can't see the point of paying so much more money vs normal edition which is usually £10 cheaper on Amazon. Might as well free up a place on the subs list for someone who is more eager to have coloured stuff.

For me, I'm not keen on the element of surprise with the sub. I know some people dig it, but personally I'd want to know what all 6 releases will be before committing to so much money.

If both Twin Peaks albums and Beyond the Black Rainbow are in sub 4, I will be onto it like a fly onto shit.

@lazyben - you're absolutely right - 200GBP once shipping is included. Shit, that's a lot of cash for 6 LP's. I love Death Waltz, but damn - that works out to about $55 per record (shipped). Such a tough decision.

The thing with the element of surprise is it's just that , it should be a bit about discovery.... music is about listening and discovering things you may not have given a chance to otherwise. How many folks would have passed on Room 237 if it wasn't in the sub & yet that is constantly bought up as one of the best scores of last year.
Looking at our slate it is beyond solid , we are taking chances and giving you stuff you didn't even know you needed which for me the best labels / shops / curators always do.
Lead don't follow. Tread your own path and the rewards far outweigh playing it safe. BTBR will sneak into this sub TP maybe not we have too much good stuff to release.

At this point I am so convinced by the MUSIC we have lined up I would happily go to just black vinyl and NO extras. It's that good.

Price will be the same as sub 3 . The sub 3 print pack just landed I'll post pics later looks great and cost us far more than we make off selling the sub.

Mail out to subbers will hint at three titles in the next sub but the rest are top secret !

^^I'm sure you're right about Room 237. I totally get it. I suppose it just comes down to money, nothing more. If cash wasn't so tight, then personally I'd be more up for the element of surprise.

Btw, have you made any decision yet r.e: black vinyl? As you say, there's so much good MUSIC coming out that a cheaper edition could be just what us poor folks need. It's hard though - I'm not convinced they'd sell enough with the current market for crazy colours/packaging.

Based on everything that's happened so far with DW/this forum/beyond-fest I have every confidence in whatever Spencer puts out being at the very least interesting with a pretty good chance of it being fucking amazing.

I wasn't in the first two subs as I'd already bought some of the records before I realized there was a sub the first time and had various international delivery problems (eventually sorted) that dissuaded me from doing sub 2. Once everything was sorted I was waiting for and jumped on sub 3 and have every intention of staying a subber going forward. There are a few benefits outside of the sub colorways (which I actually don't really care about that much) that make it worthwhile for me. So I'll be signing back up on Friday.

To be honest, I've discovered so much cool music through DW over the last couple of years, that I really look forward to the releases that I've never heard before. Forbidden World was a new discovery and not only was it an amazing record but it was a brilliant (insane) film that I'd never seen before.

I'm psyched for the new discoveries like this, it's what makes DW special in my opinion

I do plan on signing up again, even though with the exchange rate it's a lot more expensive than going through LITA. I was kinda hoping for another extra release with Sub 3 like the Halloween 3 Flexi. Something like that or a 7" thrown in would add a little more value to it. Prints are cool but I never hang them up so they just get stored.

um, I'm not going to call you guys idiots but (from Spencer earlier in this thread)...

The last record will come with a set of six lithos in an embossed envelope and will also include a DW print so 7 in total, you’ll also all get a copy of the Fabio Frizzi flexi (DW13) so you collection will be up to date. It will all be delivered in a nice tote bag.

I'm gonna agree with @lazyben here. Spence has done nothing but go out of his way to make sure that subbers have been taken care of all along. I see no reason why that would change.

Also, wouldn't the set of litho's be enough anyway?
