Well, sometimes you’re in the right place at the right time: made an offer to an eBay seller on a few De Wolfe 10”s and he said he had a bunch more he hadn’t put on eBay and he’d sell them all for the same low price.

Sooooo I ended up with this lot of 10”s.
Some were relatively blind buys, but I’m stoked to have a version of Band 8 with the original cover, and of course, I cannot believe my luck to have acquired a copy of Abstractions of the Industrial North for less than any average Mondo or Waxwork release. I’m still kinda pinching myself.

fantastic score @havershaw! Abstractions belongs in every serious library collection and is in my library top 10 easily. increible record! this one does not show up at all, unless you want to pay $1200 dollars for a VG+ copy on discogs...

how is the Colours 10"? it is on my want list for ages and looks super interesting but i did not have the courage to pull the trigger yet.

thanks @million!

Colors is great - I don’t know if it’s life-changing or anything. Kinda space age jazzy, I’d say.

@bez can’t wait for mine to arrive - just got shipping notification for that one too.

Kind of a meh liner note. I bet million has a list at the ready of all of de filippis records, if you include aliases and collaborations that were the secret sauce of his best stuff surely he made at least thirty albums?

My Meccanizzazione arrived yesterday and all I can say is wow.
Amazing record.
Stoked to see the America Giovane 2 announced, too.

thanks @Bez! really great to see America Giovanne 2 being reissued.

that liners are really kind of lame. did Jonny Trunk comment on all of these releases? i can't imagine he does not know De Filippi is involved in at least 40 records. maybe he is talking about records under the Oronzo De Filippi moniker?

anyway, i think this library reissue series is quite tasty and they have selected some good titles so far, even if i can't judge on the quality at all. one thing that i question is whether there are really only 300 copies of each release? i have noticed that Ritmo Dell'industria N.2 is being offered by 55 sellers on discogs. that pressing number is a bit controversial if you ask me...

I sold this version of Ritmo shortly after I got it (I could not live with the stereo channels being reversed) and actually made a little money on it because it seemed like there were very few on Discogs. Now it seems like there are tons, so maybe there was a repress.

Jealous of that Japanese pressing. I didn't know about that version until it had already sold out.

@havershaw, I know what none of that stuff is but it looks awesome.

Finally had a chance to listen to Meccanizzazione over the last few days. What a great record. Even my wife said "I don't know what this was but I'm glad you bought it" lol.

@inks I usually don’t expect (or pay) much for early 80s De Wolfe and I’ve been pretty pleasantly surprised at how great a lot of it is.

But ok, some of these were not great at all. I guess you win some, you lose some.

Yeah I spun the Costy, Good Feeling, and Electra last night.

Electra and Costy were pretty good, Good Feeling was meh. I’ll spin the remaining ones tonight.
