I think I like the packaging of the custom gatefold sleeves so much that I'd want to keep the premium subscription going, but I like the price and the black color of the blackened sub idea so much that I'd get it too, that would give me a spare copy in case something happens (god forbid) to the other.

I can't choose one sub over the other, dammit ! I'd have to have both ! I'm pretty sure my friends are preparing an intervention to talk about my vinyl buying "problem".

The litho package looks very nice, I will enjoy looking at them and then grumbling that I have no wall space to frame them as my walls are all blocked by record racks. Heh.

The black sub announcement has thrown me a bit. I might have done a black sub with the regular sleeves but I really like the way the packaging has gone ever since the fog and maniac. I guess that means I'm sticking with the full sub.

I'm definitely not doing both. Definitely. Maybe.

I'm trying to cut down the amount of records you buy that are identical with this idea not make you buy more !

Jesus - those prints look awesome. Considering the price that an individual, short-run print sells for in the art-world, the sub is fucking great value. I think the plain black sub is a great idea, but its not for me - as a sound and visual artist myself, the art work is half the attraction!

I don't mind buying two copies of certain quality releases, and I would definitely get a black subscription along with the regular sub. That would be enough, however. I wouldn't feel a need to get the other colorways (except on a very rare occasion... meaning Carpenter).

I enjoy my black copy and my haze copy of "The Fog" equally - one to listen to, one to drool on.

I really couldn't justify both. I'm always torn on the colour thing as single colour, especially black, does sound better (10x better on the fog).

However with a lot of reissues it doesn't really matter as the source can be less than perfect. And some of the colour versions look fantastic so there's that as well. Also I really don't want to give up the lovely sleeves. Most of the fancy colour DW releases have been perfectly acceptable sound quality wise anyway.

So I'm sticking with the colour sub. I wouldn't mind the option of a black lsitening copy for something I'm going to listen to a lot though.

I'm going to stay with the Sub colours releases because I used to record on .wav my vinil during the first play.

The Litho package looks incredible. I for one am a big fan of the lithos. I have a bunch of frames with removable backs that I change out every few months with lithos and album covers so they all get diplayed at some point.

As far as the black sub goes, I think it is a great idea for some but I am sticking with the regular sub. Everything in this last sub was so well done and I had no sound quality issues with the sub colorways. While the music is the most important part I look at the whole package (music,vinyl color,cover art,labels,liner notes,inserts,etc.)as a piece of art.
