Could someone PLEASE release the opening & closing themes from Tales From The Darkside TV series? That would be one amazing 7" release. Maybe some research could be done, and perhaps there are alternative or extended editions that could be included? Or some of the background music used in the series. This was just such a damn good show, and the theme is so extremely memorable.

That would be pretty sweet! So many fondories as a child watching this show my bro. One ep that always sticks out to the both of is the Halloween episode with the little goblin/troll thing tormenting the grumpy, old man who was not really festive :-)

Avalon is such a beauty, that has my vote too. Still sad I barely missed the new Geinoh Yamashirogumi ‎– Symphonic Suite Akira rerelease.

I also really miss a wax release for all the wes anderson films (excluding the 10" for moonrise kingdom)

Somebody, somewhere, PLEASE consider putting out Cyclobe's music for the re-release of DEATH BED - it's absolutely brilliant, you can probably do it as a beautiful single-sided etched bile-yellow-vinyl 7" with this image as the sleeve ;)

It's actually a piece called EACH AND EVERY WORD MUST DIE, from their CD LUMINOUS DARKNESS:

But they re-recorded a version for the film:

So beautiful, this will haunt your damn dreams......

And cool - just found the whole film on YT:

You can hear the re-worked version at around 10' 30"......

I've just noticed in the end credits of this re-release version that one Jim Williams is credited as Associate Producer...I wonder if that's the JW of "Ben Wheatley/Sightseers/Field in England" fame? Would all sorta make sense, since Stephen Thrower is part of Cyclobe, and he scored Kill List.....

@discosuck Thanks for the tip! You made my day! I didn't know about the DEREK JARMAN'S SOUNDTRACKS vinyl reissue... It's truly an essential record.

And I'll second you on the Death Bed soundtrack ;)

Here's an hidden gem from John Carpenter's discography that never got an official release in the US. It's the soundtrack for an obscure Playstation 1/PC game Sentinel Returns, which was a sequel to even more obscure Commodore 64/PC game The Sentinel. It was all-new original music composed and performed by Carpenter. The game itself was really strange, and as a teenager, I could never figure it out. I actually bought the PC copy just because of the music. Thankfully, the music was on the disc as Redbook audio, so I could throw it in my Discman and just listen to the music. It sounds like a mix between The Fog and Prince of Darkness, which are two of my favorites of his. Considering he didn't score his last three films (The Ward and 2 Masters of Horror episodes), this may be the last chance for many of us to hear "new" John Carpenter music. I've since lost the PC disc to a packed away box somewhere.

Hey guys,

I have the complete score for "Sentinel" by Carpenter as digital files, if anyone's interested - I'm happy to make available via DropBox...btw, it's really good! ;)

As I bonus, I can throw in Carpenter's original (and very first!) score for the short film, "The Resurrection of Bronco Billy". Ripped from a 16mm print, with some cleaning up - HEAR beautiful little strummed theme song with Carpenter/Nick Castle whistling! HEAR the very foundation of JC's soundtracking career! :)

Whoa, I would absolutely love to hear the Bronco Billy stuff! I've never seen or heard anything John did before Dark Star. Sentinel Returns would be great too, in case I never end up coming across my PC copy of the game again.

Great call Static! A proper big-assed sci-fi score that one, if I recall.......with a nod or two towards Mancini's Lifeforce :)
