Phil I hardly think £8 is excessive for 4 180gm records in heavyweight sleeves loaded with prints and posters ...
Maybe you should try posting records sometime. We are a small company and get orders out next day , our shippers have been snowed under with RSD / Sub bundles but all orders have been sent .

No need for the tone!! I'm not saying £8 is excessive but I don't understand why it takes longer to ship from you than most online retailers such as Norman records, Juno or boomkat. I appreciate you are small just as you should appreciate I've just spent over £270 in your shop to support you!

I think you are missing the obvious there Phil - DW is not an online retailer, it's a small record label with fewer resources than the actual retailers you mention.

this isn't a point i intended to drag out, I'm not unhappy with the charges and I'm not unhappy with DW (although their comments are not conducive to good PR), all i was saying is you pay the delivery and are told it gets shipped next day but a week later and nothing arrives.

DW have said their shippers have been snowed under and thats fine, I accept that, but i think comments like "I hardly think £8 is excessive for 4 180gm records in heavyweight sleeves loaded with prints and posters … Maybe you should try posting records sometime." are not overly friendly in tone and unnecessary, especially when the reason for the eagerness is due to the excitement of wanting to hear their releases.

Lets move on and hope they arrive sometime soon. :)

@philball Stop being such a suck-ass. You're making my penis soft.

How would your tone be if you ran a business with a forum consisting of a bunch of neurotic geeks shitting all over you?

Relax, people. Death Waltz is incredible.

My tone would be one of gratitude that people spend £190 on 6 records enabling me to run the business that I wanted to.

Anytime I read posts complaining about stuff, I can't help but imagine them being read in the voice of Lord Humongous

Go back and read the posts. I'm not technically complaining. I made a gripe about slow delivery DW have posted saying delivery people are swamped. The rest is by the by. I love DW, they are releasing awesome stuff to which I own 80% of.
I’m still waiting for rsd bundle with no word it’s even been sent! Who knows but I’ll be pissed if they haven’t been sent yet what with the £8 delivery charge!!
Phil
Read this again and tell me why I wouldn't be irked by it ?

It has nothing to do with not appreciating you buying our records . I think most people that know me know that I'm incredibly humbled by how popular the label is and how into it people are . I bust my ass paying way over the odds to produce the best packages I can and of course I want you all to get records quickly .
This week alone my shipping company have packed and shipped 300 sub packages , 300-500 RSD packages as well as standard orders . I'm sorry your waiting for a package but everything has shipped .
Subbers should have gotten their sub packages too can anyone confirm that there's has landed ...

The Bronx Warriors and Claudio Simonetti's score for The New Barbarians were released before as a 2-in-1 CD. I thought The New Barbarians (which I read somewhere DW is also reissuing) is the more entertaining work.

Just listened to Slumber Party download last night for the first time. Good stuff, can't wait for the vinyl.

After listening to all the DW RSD titles for a second time ( So much new stuff for me lately with RSD and a huge used lot I got). For my taste I would rank them as follows:
1. Bronx Warrior (so fun to listen to. I played half of side 1 at 33rpm the first time like some others.... DOH!)
2. Emmanuelle (this was a surprise for me, love it)
3. Perfume of the Lady in Black (I liked it more the second time, I think it will grow on me more over time)
4. In the Wall ( I love Clint Mansell. I listen to Requim for a Dream, Moon and Stoker a ton but this one hasn't really grabbed me yet)

No sub package yet for me but I am in the US and usually about a week behind everyone else.

Question for Spencer.

I think someone already asked the same thing, but not sure if I missed the answer: Do B2B subbers get the same perks as deluxe subbers, as far as 10% (or is it 12%?) off orders, possibility to buy exclusives off the website before the general public, etc...?

Would be cool if you could give some clarifications on that, thanks.

@deathwaltz Spencer, shot you and Carlos an email. Like an idiot i entered the wrong email adress when signing up for an account while purchasing B2B sub and now I am afraid I will not receive any emails. Is there any way I can get this fixed? Thanks

The barebone sub is damn cheap compared to the deluxe, so I think it's cool if perks like discounts, heads ups, exclusives etc. are only for the deluxe subbers (and I'm not just saying that 'cause I'm one myself!).

I don´t want to start an argument between B2B subbers and Deluxe subbers (and if we have one, I suggest we at least do it while listening to the Bronx Warriors soundtrack), but the way I saw it was this:

Granted, the B2B is only half of the Deluxe package, but my money still supports future DW releases, just as much as a Deluxe subber´s money. And for my ´damn cheap´, I get normal sleeves and black vinyls, whereas the Deluxe subbers get booklets, posters, color vinyl and lithographies. There is a reason Deluxe subbers pay more, they get more.
The way I see it, you pay more for nicer , goodie-filled releases, not for the exclusives. If the exclusives were free for Deluxe subbers, I would say, fair enough. But I would still pay the same amount for the same exclusives as a Deluxe subber.

Look, I get it: there are a lot of collectors and completists on these forums, and even if we don´t want to admit it, we all like having first dips on exclusives, and as little competition as possible. We are collectors ... no hard feelings, no regrets, it´s only human. However, I think there are not that many B2B subbers, and I don´t think they would eat anyone´s cake away. I admit, it would simply be nice to have a head start before non subbers, just like Deluxe subbers.

My other reason for bumping the question though: a discount for B2B subbers would soften, at least for me, the shipping amount to Luxembourg, and I would not always have to look twice for other venues where I might get DW releases a bit cheaper.

In the end, it is up to Spencer. If he says no, I can accept that. I don´t want this to turn into an argument. I am already thankful to Spencer that he put forward the B2B sub, but since I could so far not find a clear answer to this question, I felt I had to ask.

Sorry for the long post, I just wanted to bring across as clearly as possible why I felt bringing this subject up was justified.

I think it's clear. You get what's described which is "our next six releases in 180GM black vinyl housed in a 350 gsm sleeve containing full cover artwork".

The full sub listed all the other stuff. I think it's a bit cheeky to be paying considerably less than half the price and expect to get all the rest of the stuff. The fancy colours and booklets don't account for all that difference in price.

Plus there are now more back to black subbers than full subbers. So it's not true to say that there aren't that many.

I was a regular Subber the last go around and i'm now a B2B'er, and the way I read it was no free stuff but you still get first dibs on non sub releases. I'm cool with that. :)
