On discogs there seems to be a big difference in price between items that are NM or M- and those which are VG or VG+

What media quality should VG+ mean? are we talking visual scratches or crackles and pops?

Im talking as a guideline/benchmark. As an example I am looking at the Alien soundtrack £22 for NM and £6.99 for VG+

I sell a lot over on Discogs. I grade almost everything VG+ unless I bought it new and only spun it a couple times. I don't sell VG- unless it's rare. They just won't sound good unless the music can overpower the noise. If any one has had an issue I usually just give them a credit or refund and tell them to keep it. It's tough to catch all issues.

It also really depends on the seller. I have bought stuff that is NM that came in looking and sounding VG+ or I have bough stuff from Japan that is graded VG+ and it came in looking NM. Most sellers are ok play grading. Just ask them to tell you if it plays with any noise.

I would look over sellers feedback. If he has more than one or two bad feedback for over grading than I wouldn't buy from them.

Have to agree with Jdubtxn. If it has too many visible scuffs its VG. VG+ should be not much noise really.
