Or they had multiple copies of the same record.

They are super slow responding. :/ Took them forever to get back to me about a damaged jacket from creepshow and I emailed them again earlier this week and haven't heard back yet.

Not always true though, I have bought things for several times their value on week of release on Discogs/eBay simply because I was not quick enough on day of release to get one. At the same time things I think are going to go up in a value I'll buy an extra copy of and put it in a box for the future.

That could well be because they have multiple copies. I missed The Fog and ended up same week spending £56 on one from someone with a Rough Trade email account. His excuse on me pointing this out in the feedback I left was "I sold three copies and kept the black one for myself. sure it feels a bit shitty doing it as people couldn't get hold of it but on this case i needed to make the extra money - working in a record shop does not have a great wage". Spencer did contact me on the back of some feedback I left somewhere a few weeks later and had a bit of a word with Rough Trade about it.

What's more the record I bought had pressing defects on it!

Hey Antimax, I hope you're not implying that we, the seller, are buying our own records to resell them at a higher price. Maybe I'm reading everything wrong, so apologies if so. But yeah, that's insane, and honestly, we don't have the time to even think about doing something that crazy.

Unfortunately, there's bad apples out there that will flip WW, DW, OWS, and Mondo records on pre order launch day. Even before that. They even use our product photos.

Us here at WW have actually caught a couple of them and shut them down. Wish we could do that all the time.

@waxwork - I don't think antimax was implying that at all about record labels buying up their own stock. I think it was just for the flippers on eBay, discogs, etc.

I believe the only label that has ever been somewhat accused of that is Mondo - just because almost all the flippers on their posters and now even vinyl are typically in Austin, so the assumption was friends/family/whomever close to the label were getting extras or helping the group make extra money by flipping. I have no clue if that is true, just something I've heard of the years from when I lived in Austin.

@Waxwork, just curious but when does the "Chopping Mall" vinyl go out to everyone? Oh, and by the way thank you for the missing "Creeper Litho " from one of my buys from Waxwork. Mistakes happen no big deal. Now the vinyl is complete with the "Creeper"!!!!!

But, yeah I don't know if I over read it or wasn't paying attention, but will " Chopping Mall" be distributed before Aug 5, the "Friday the 13th" vinyl drops??

@Waxwork

Will I also be able to combine my existing Chopping Mall order with Friday 13th if I am lucky enough to secure a copy when the latter goes on sale - if doubling up at the despatch stage saves any dollars on shipping to the UK?

Just a thought.

By any chance do you have plans to do Nightmare on Elm Street? Would really love to see the WW twist if these were rereleased. Plus I really don't want to pay eBay prices for them as well.

Waxworks made a post on Facebook mentioning that there will be limited represses of the catalog, same sleeves but different colors. It's hilarious to see people whining about it, claiming it devalues their records and that they're going to boycott the label now. I guess some people really just buy things because they're going to increase in value instead of for the music itself. I would have expected that reaction if Mondo did it since they seem to be the one label that the flippers really go for, not a new one like Waxwork.

We can hope they boycott. That way there will be more to go around for the ones who want the music.

Just saw the cool Cronenberg and Carpenter slipmats link on the waxwork site, quite fancied the Fly one, put it in the basket and fell over when they wanted $15 shipping! they must weigh less than a fly!

link for anyone interested

They should be happy a label they enjoy is doing so well. If anything, they should be proud they jumped on the bandwagon first and have a first pressing of it. I know I am proud of my red/blue rosemary's baby. I have every one of theirs, except one. I thought I was going to get it as a gift, so I didn't order it- turns out I didn't get it! So, I am glad I am going to have another shot at getting it. I may end up picking up the zombie flesh of Day of the Dead eventually, because I really dig that variant, but I may just be fine with the new one that comes out. I am really more of a music appreciator than a variant collector, though I do appreciate fine vinyl when I see it. ;)

Boycott a label for repressing an awesome release… WTF has this world come to?!?! Hahaha

People over-think this stuff too much sometimes. It's kind of like gay marriage, actually. Someone else having access to something should in no way diminish your enjoyment of whatever that is.

Yeah, its' not like they're doing a repress of the Day of the Dead zombie flesh or Rosemary's Baby double sided variants. I could see some having an issue with that perhaps. I'd love it if Mondo did a repress of the original Maniac.

I think it might have more to do with owning something rare and unique... I can sort of understand it, but I don't mind represses, unless the label has marketed the vinyl as a "one off pressing", "when it's gone, it will never be repressed" or something similar. I do think some of the labels have done this and then done the opposite. I am not sure this is the case with Waxwork, however.

Quick Chopping Mall update for anyone asking about their orders. Our freight company ran into a small shipping delay with our Chopping Mall release. We are on top of it, and we are making sure everyone gets their copy as quickly as possible. Due to the time exhausting nature of vinyl manufacturing and the pressing plants getting slammed with vinyl orders everyday, one small delay can begin a domino effect of other delays. If you haven't yet received your shipping or tracking information, rest assured we are working on it. We sincerely thank you guys for your patience!

Got mine yesterday. Looks and sounds great! Love the glossy finish on the jacket, I think it really suits the artwork. Choosing the green/yellow was a tough one, since the pink looked pretty damn cool too. Congrats on another successful release, drink some NOLA Brewing Mechahopzilla and celebrate. They really need to send some of that beer to Texas...
