Question that I'm sure has been answered before. Do Waxwork have a European distributer? Shipping prices from the US for LP's has become silly. Nearly a 100 bucks for two albums is a bit too much.

We are distributed in Europe and the UK.

ShIpping rates from the US to international customers are indeed expensive. We wish there was a way around it.

I think it's easy to play the 'flipper' card all the time. I don't care all that much about the value of my records, since I normally don't sell them.

However, when I buy records I will consider the limitations of the record in order to pay a decent price or maybe even buy it overseas. That was the case with some of the Waxwork records.. I think I paid a lot for them because of the shipping costs or the high prices on Discogs related to the number of copies, but I could justify it to myself for the same reasons.

However, when I now hear that there is going to be a repress, I feel ripped-of. Not because I'm not able to sell my copies for a lot, but because I spend too much buying them.

Printing more copies in the first place was an option as well, but when going for the 'limited' approach, then you should stick to it as well. I'm not saying they shouldn't repress it again (that happens all the time), but the same year??

I'm not going to boycot the label, but I won't buy directly from them anymore neither. I just can't justify that to myself (and my budget), eventually those records will turn up in local stores as well...

^^^ Agreed. This sounds WAAAAY fabulous. Looking forward to placing my order for this and F13.

Also, when do you anticipate represses of Day of the Dead and Creepshow coming to fruition? You have so much on your plate!! :D

So, Waxwork is releasing its first non OST soundtrack... looks like coming next year.

Very little idea of what it might sound like from this 'in the studio' trailer on their site (except quite percussive perhaps):

What a great line-up.

Here is AN EXCERPT from their first release (Lombardo wasn't on it).

Ronwell.

Take a deep breath and calm down.

We are a friendly bunch here (for the most part)

No need to go on a rant .

Chatting with a pal today and we were shaking our heads/lamenting that people seem to be forgetting how to communicate with each other. This was especially timely considering what's been going down over on the WW FB page. The age of online "commenting" rather than communication. Saddens the fuck out of me - for everyone concerned.

Onward to better things.

@discco and unfortunately some of that has found its way here!

I have nothing to do with FB. I like twitter though.

I really hope somebody is doing Trick r Treat! I listen to that score all the time. That's near the top of my wishlist. That and the unused score for Halloween H20.

Good that Waxwork can share a laugh at their own expense... it's actually the only label for which I currently own all of their releases, not through a desire to be slavishly completist, but because what they have released so far has appealed.

The artwork for Chopping Mall is the best thing about that release in my opinion - captured the whole 1980's vibe, and with a sense of humour too.

That is hilarious! More of a comment on the sad state in how people communicate.

Kind of reminded me of when David Lynch's Lost Highway was first released, Siskel & Ebert gave it two “thumbs down.” David Lynch had this poster made to promote the movie.

Keep doing the excellent work WW :)

Agree with Spun out of control on this one, they are the only label that i have purchased everything from. no granted, they've only had so many releases and so far they've been all in my wheelhouse, but everything else they've been teasing is probably a go too.

The only time I ever want to see the words "Lost Highway" on this board is followed immediately by the phrase "is finally being re-released on vinyl by..." since I don't have $400 to buy a copy of the Simply Vinyl issue. It has been #1 on my wish list for years.

Sacred Bones and Death Waltz are my candidates since both are involved with Lynch & Badalamenti.

Can we be honest? Yes record collecting is turning into Beanie Babies. It will only be a matter of time. Is Waxwork at fault or causing this? Hell no. They just happen to be able to get some very popular soundtracks and the demand is crazy. I'm just happy that some of the more obscure soundtracks are getting released. If you collect stuff like this as an investment you are going to have a bad time. If you are purely a flipper and not a collector you are just a dick.

Life is a lot simpler if you're just into this for the music. :)
