Big thumbs up to Waxworks.
Amazing first release.
I had a small issue with my copy and they took care of it right away. Thanks, can't wait to see what else you have in store for us.

Just got it from Amazon. Took 6 days to arrive to Chile.
Excelent release, can't wait for next release.

Hey Waxwork, is there any news on when/if Amazon UK will get their Re-Animator stock? I notice they've stopped taking pre-orders now. My pre-order says it will be delivered between 24 Aug-19 Sep. Has anyone received their's yet?

fluppeco: Here in Denmark you only get a free VAT pass when it's around €10 (including shipping), and you can't get a lot of good vinyl for that. I don't mind paying the VAT much, but as I noted previously, the post office adds a €21 administrative flat fee - even if the package is only, say, €11.

I think I might take a chance with Amazon US at some point, however, and see what happens. If it gets caught in customs, I'll just not pick it up. It will then get sent back and I assume Amazon will then issue a refund.

Sorry to hear Denmark is pretty strict!

Thanks for the info Rasmus, I must have missed that post. I went to purchase from Waxworks last night and guess what?: Sold-out! So I checked Bleep, Boomkat and Norman and they'd all sold-out. So I panicked and checked Discogs and luckily managed to get a mint glow in the dark for about the same price as it would have cost for a random colour from Waxworks. I can relax now and coincidentally I got an email from Amazon last night stating that my copy will be delivered 2 Sep-2 Sep which is a pretty specific date. I think I'll leave this order and if by some miracle it does turn up I'll just use it to trade for something and help out a fellow vinyl junkie that missed out on this great record!

Haha, yeah, I didn't cancel my order from Amazon UK either, although it's probably clutching at (non-existing) straws :D

This is actually no longer for sale at Amazon UK - so I think it's safe to say that any outstanding orders won't be honoured! I cancelled mine and ordered from elsewhere.

I'm afraid I had a "bad feeling" about Amazon UK from the start (hence pestering Wax-dudes with queries)

I ordered and cancelled no less than three times - a measure of my hesitance!

Finally scored the green version from a local record store, for £20 - winning!

My advice to EU folks who still haven't given up on Amazon UK is get over to Discogs asap! There's at least 5 EU based sellers right now with copies for around 25 Euros, both variants. Get in! :)

Yes! I got my two copies and they didn't end up in customs - with a little (and much appreciated) help from the good folks at Waxwork :)

AND they were kind enough to send both versions, so I'm a very happy camper (and they look stunning) :)

I'm glad everyone's enjoying this release, but I must say, I haven't bought it simply because I'm just not into the soundtrack itself. Does anyone else think it's weird that Richard Band straight-up used the Psycho theme for this theme? I just can't get over that, it's so odd... Love the film, though,

With that said, I'm definitely planning on picking up the next two WaxWork releases!

you know, i thought the exact same thing the first time i saw the movie. i thought, WHAT THE HELL?! but the rest of the soundtrack certainly has merit, and the movie is so great, and the work into this release was stellar. overall it's a fun package and well put together. :)

I've always wondered that too, since the first time I saw the film years ago. It is an awfully direct rip-off of the Psycho theme. I couldn't ever find any information really on why he did that...why it was so unoriginal. Oh well, the rest of the music is good and I enjoy the vinyl edition very much!

he made it clear that it was a hommage its even mentioned in the liner notes! he even wrote a letter to the herrman family and wanted it to be written in the credits but the producers said no

true enough, but it still makes a person go back and forth between it being an homage and a near note-for-note copy. i do still enjoy the soundtrack in it's entirety, but man the first time i saw the movie i was going bananas, yelling to my wife, "are you serious? listen to this!". :)

I've been waiting for my Amazon (UK) order of Re-animator to be sent for ages. Thankfully I saw the comments on this thread about the UK distributor having sold out, so went and bought elsewhere.

For anyone in the UK still looking for copies, I ordered from Juno website yesterday afternoon and the LP has already arrived - now that's what I call service! Strange Vice also have copies - their website says 12 copies left in stock.
