Nekronology is not the complete Nekromantik score because it's only the Hermann Kopp tracks which is only 3 when compared to this.

This is the complete score as far as I know. Tracks A1-A10 are Nekromantik & then B1-B10 are Nekromantik 2.

I have that record. It's very cool! Does anyone here happen to own the pic 7" released by the director? I use to know a vhs trader who was the first American to import the video into the U.S. & Jorg sent along that record as a bonus item. My friend had to transfer the PAL tape to NTSC then sold dubs for a low price to his closest traders.

So here goes with my own thought process on this one (dang I love these games Seb!

I started thinking Popol Vuh's "Nosferatu" score, which certainly fits both clues very nicely. Maybe......

Then I though, maybe just a German group..... Tangerine Dream. But nothing really seems to make sense for the 1st clue, since they've pretty much scored US movies.

Can? That could be really exciting....full scores for Deadlock or Alice in the Cities perhaps.....but neither of those really adds up in respect of Clue 1.

Hmmmm........

So then focussing on German horror movies. Caligari and Vampyr don't sit quite right, even though with Phantom of the Opera OWS have clearly shown an interest in "classic" as well as contemporary genre film.

Could it be a Jess Franco / Bruno Nicolai?

Does it have to be horror? If not, my vote goes for Yann Tiersen's Good Bye Lenin! – which in my opinion definitely qualifies for "one of the most beautiful European scores ever composed". Goes for big bucks now (not that I'd ever sell) so probably due a repress?

Thanks for opening my ears to La Planete Sauvage. I've just bought a copy! It seemed so familiar ... Then I realised its been sampled loads. Dj Shadow, J Dilla came to mind. I'm sure there are more. It also reminded me of Gazeuse by Gong. Cheers!

I tend to agree with Nathan, Mark of the Devil is a good call. I have trouble thinking of another German genre soundtrack that could be qualified as 'one of the most beautiful European scores'.

Maybe Tenderness of the Wolves, but even though I remember really liking the film when I saw it ages ago, I am not sure anymore what the soundtrack was like.
