This is the kind of thing to keep me around , it's a great idea...

This thread will fill up quickly and things will get lost (as they do on forums)

Why dont we give one person the chance to post / blog about their deep cut with Youtube links where possible then they nominate the next person and so on - that way folks get a chance AND the post stays around for a week or a few days for folks to digest .

Il Conte Dracula Soundtrack by Bruno Nicolai

The Jess Franco film was released in 1970 and is a pretty straight ahead Dracula film starting Christopher Lee as the count and Klaus Kinski as Renfield (not to mention Soledad Miranda as Lucy!)

As near as I can tell, the first release of Nicolai's soundtrack came a little over a decade later in 1982 on the Italian Edipan label.

This isn't Nicolai's best, but I really dig it.

That Bruno Nicolai is great, it appeared on the Finders Kreepers 7" split with roger roger earlier this year.

Here's another absolute belter I recently discovered from Ennio Morricone after Orgasmo Sonore did a stunning digital release cover of it... the mid point around the 3 minute mark has me imagining some great lost Bond theme.

Again the original vinyl seems to go for silly money - even CDs of the soundtrack are expensive.

I like the idea for this thread. Members have been showing off so many intriguing records, or had them on their spinning table, and I've had trouble finding any valuable info on many of them. It would be great to get some real reviews on some of those.

Maybe the first post could feature a list of members willing to be selected for a review, and whoever selects the next member can do so from the list. And people who feel they have no time or no good record to review can simply ask to be taken off the list again, until they decide to go back on it.

feels like it needs a new thread already! not sure its going to plan! How about we have a top level thread called Deep Cut reviews. It has a thread called whos taking part. then who ever is picked to review starts a new thread called "album name" and they start the post. No one else is allowed to put a review in that post and only a new thread is allowed once the baton is passed?

Other wise it seems it will get very messy quiocky and become pointless
