Joe from Blackest Rainbow Records informed today that the pressing plant made an issue with the haze effect.

I guess all who have ordered get the mail.

I have no problem to wait for a repress and will wait. The mp3 version helps through the time.

This issue is only with the haze variant. The splatter variant seems to be ok:

i feel so bad for them, the pressing plant is really not owning their mistake. If a vendor messed up my product like this (and i've had i happen a few times...go advertising!) and then refused to even admit they had made a mistake, i'd be through the roof. i'd also never use that vendor again afterwards. the way they've treated Joe according to his emails is pretty unprofessional in my opinion. too bad there are only so many presses around that he may be forced to just deal with these guys, but i hope things go better.

anyway, looking forward to this when it eventually arrives, what a cool score!

I got mine a couple weeks ago and I think it looks fantastic! The rust has a deep metallic look to it. I well prefer it over the splatter...but, you know, opinions.

But what do you guys think to the music? I was surprised how depressing it is! That's not to say I don't like it, I just find it a bit dark.

Can't help but, unfortunately, see a cow pat when looking at that record. I think the music would make more sense had I seen the film, which is supposed to be worth watching - though it does look quite dark in tone. The sound clips were okay-ish to me, but not riveting enough in a standalone way to demand a purchase.

Think it's quite common that a soundtrack means much, much more when it's to an old or cult film you love and cherish - for brand new soundtracks, when I haven't seen the movie, it has to grab me immediately on sound alone. Would I want to spin it as a listen in preference to an album by The Clash, say?

It's on the list.... along with It Follows, Duke of Burgundy... still recovering from watching the Grindhouse blu ray of Cannibal Holocaust last weekend (cruelty free version naturally) and recently caught up with Upstream Color and Cold in July on the basis of recommendations on the board

Discovering new soundtracks means that you end up seeking out the accompanying films and vice versa - which is two lots of expense

Think the rust idea above is quite clever, just perhaps didn't come off 100%?

Not to derail the thread but I will say both Upstream Colour and Cold in July were both brilliant. And the UC soundtrack is one of my favourites.

Never saw the movie. The score is definetly dark and perfect for a winter ride.
