Thanks for the news Red Goblin - have been waiting for these since your early 'teasing' of the cover design... better save some of my Christmas money for January then ;)

Any more pics or ideas on possible vinyl treatments?

I have the DJANGO lp released by Intermezzo in 1985, and will this new edition contain the same 18 tracks, or will it be expanded like the subsequent CD releases? The GDM & Verita Note CDs contain 37 tracks, including alt. versions. And FOR A FEW DOLLARS MORE has only had 6 tracks officially released on vinyl & CD, with the Hexacord CD pulling some additional music & fx tracks for a disappointing "expanded" release. Will the new AMS edition be the same 6 tracks? The recent GDM FISTFUL OF DOLLARS 10" release contained the same 6 tracks as on the original vinyl, even though the GDM CD from 2006 contains an additional 11 tracks (music only this time).

In a world of expanded CD releases, can the lps follow suit?

Django will be a special and unique edition. I personally chose the songs to be included in the track listing. AMS had the license on the expanded 75 minutes GDM edition. I made a selection, our LP has a length of 45 minutes, for example, there will be the title track in the original version sung in English by Rocky Roberts and not the Italian version (not used in the movie) that I judge inferior despite being the only published at the time on 45rpm.

For a few dollars more has 8 tracks, no ‘soundscapes’.

Sometimes expanded editions are good only for completists and researchers (I'm both!)

Flood Tide by Dark Dark Dark

"The vinyl is a double LP gatefold package with three sides of music and one side of laser-etched original artwork by Michael Gaughan. The vinyl comes with a HD download of the film and FLAC and MP3 downloads of the soundtrack. When you pre-order you’ll also get downloads of the film and soundtrack instantly!

"The film follows a group of artists and musicians as they float down a river on a fleet of sculptural rafts built from junk. The film was shot during Swoon’s Swimming Cities of Switchback Sea project and the music was created by Dark Dark Dark specifically for the feature, coming together over numerous rehearsal sessions."

Sounds like a great release, but why not going for the full 75 mn, seems even better, plus i'd love the Italian version as well :)

Got my copy direct in less than a week (to the US)! Plus quick e-mail communication - excellent experience with Moptaco. The sleeve is a thinner cardstock fold-over, not a full jacket, but is quite presentable.

2015 will start with a nice reissue of Les Baxter's "Barbarian" soundtrack on vinyl.

Some tracks can be heard over HERE

The soundtrack to the 1959 Italian peplum/sword-and-sandal film Goliath and the Barbarians starring American bodybuilder and mega-star in Europe at the time, Steve Reeves, Barbarian is about a million times better than the movie it was made to accompany. Featuring Les Baxter's signature percussion sound and moody arrangements, Barbarian is one of Baxter's finest titles of the late '50s/early '60s. Back in print on 180-gram LP courtesy of the exotica enthusiasts at So Far Out.
