When marathon became a snickers it still tastes like chocolate and peanuts, only now you can buy a king sized too.

When I first stumbled across Death Waltz I was astounded. Someone else gave a shit about this stuff, and then I registered here and got great tips, fantastic info and some decent, like minded banter (mostly).
This whole soundtrack on vinyl revival has blown my mind. It's gone bigger than I ever imagined and Christ only knows how Spencer feels.
I feel like I'm sending my kid off to to big school.
Nervous, apprehensive...but ultimately full of hope for what the future may bring.
Frankly Spencer seems to have the greatest job in the world now and I think he deserves it.

The Mondo newsletter didn't include news about the DW 7" release. Mondo did tweet out about releasing old/new DW stuff.

Spencer, is this going to be secret till tomorrow?

As long as the DW records are still available from my local UK record store, I'll be happy.

I ordered it anyway because I just simply cant miss out on that one. I've been hoping for it forever!

@Spencer: Shipping prices are simply unaffordable for European customers. What about RepublicOfMusic or OWS to distribute DW releases for us, poor European Citizens?
I wanted to buy The Raid from Mondo's web site and I stopped after seeing the shipping cost. So I passed on this one, and I'll pass on all other releases from Mondo or DW if there's no other distribution point.
Do you really think I'm the only one in this case? Does you business plan only based on the US market (and flippers)? This merger is a nightmare for us. So sad.

Spencer already said that ROM will distribute DW and Mondo catalog, so you will see those releases in your record shop.

Which one, the tri-colour Angela's Theme vinyl?

Oh, don't know about limited variants. I just say DW stuff will be avaliable in stores as always.
Don't know for UK based, sure things have changed a lot for you guys. I'm in Spain, I paid 24$ for shipping buying 2x7" + 1xLP. That's 15 pounds? I used to pay 13-14 pounds with old DW store.

Dear Spencer,

Please stop wasting your valuable time playing customer service rep to all the whining cry-babies out there....and firm up some more killer releases instead.

Thank you.

Good point Danhousen, in that case the shipping increase will mostly affect UK folk (though there might be taxes too).

I've not been around since the beginning, etc, and I can see that it might feel like that feeling when 'your' band sells out and they're playing sold out arenas when you saw them play in front of 60 people at the start. Disappointment is a reasonable reaction.

When it comes down to it, it's just business. In this case it means UK collectors might pay more for exclusive variants, but US customers (likely a much greater number) look like they'll be much better off. It's unfortunate as a UK buyer, and I'd personally need to pay more (more likely I'll buy standard vinyl at the local record shop). In the grand scheme of things, it's going to be better for collectors in terms of releases, and better for the majority, cost-wise. I'd prefer all record labels had a kiosk near my house and I'd just pop round whenever I wanted to, but business is business.

On the plus side, I'm impressed by the Mondo combined shipping rates, quite reasonable for each additional record. I might bulk order if a few releases come out. I hope most people are happy with the changes, and every success to Spencer, DW and Mondo.

i bought the raid 2 and the 45 from mondo
I'd like also to buy scanners but dont' have enough credit in my prepaid card (2 lp +7 inch + shipping to italy = 104 euros....)
Don't want to argue about the quality of these amazing label- and the passion put in place by Spencer but I think 43 dollars of shipping for 3 records are too much for me
I'd definetly look at european distributor (63,72 euros for the raid and the 7 inches is very expensive )and still support death waltz if possible by buying regular releases from european distributors - as i'm interested in music.
What can I do to buy these in Europe? ROugh Trade or what else?

1 LP and 1 7" = 35.35$ Shipping costs to Germany!
This really hurts. And than I have to add the custom fees.

Guys, I am sure that there must be bug,

When I buy exactly the same records in a different color, the shipping costs are only 18.95$

Can someone from Mondo check this?

Thx

Seconded on this.

I got Scanners and Angela's Theme.

Scanners on its own is around $16 shipping to UK, add on the 7" and it rises to $35.

Add on another LP and it falls to $26!

I'm more than happy to pay the shipping when I want to buy from Mondo, would just like it to be calculated correctly that's all.

Now just need to wait for the thing to arrive so I can spin the nuts off that 7"

I only paid $20.45 for shipping of Scanners/Broods + Batman Animated to Denmark. I hope that wasn't an error...

And fortunately, Mondo has always been "VAT friendly"... (otherwise I'd never buy from them).

Will do mate.

Really pleased for you with all that's going on - was great to see the back catalogue popping up 1 by 1 on the Mondo site, must have felt pretty cool for you.

Don't focus on the negative comments on here, can't wait to see what you have in store for us this year!

Cheers
