500 copies: Unseen Forces with the originally announced splatter colored vinyl version.
1000 copies distributed in NA by Light in the Attic with their own vinyl configurations.
1000 copies dstributed in the UK/EU by Death Waltz with their own vinyl configurations.

So it would seem that DWR do have two different versions, 500 copies each.

I also find it a little odd that the Subscriber version is limited to 500 copies, when there are only 300 subscribers...

Unseen Forces website said when I ordered it (before DW got it in) ltd to 1000 copies worldwide at the top of their page. Now they say 500 worldwide. As for the subs link I presume the xtra copies for subs is because we could order 2 copies?

I don't appreciate the seemingly intentional ambiguity on all fronts here. Anyone of the participating parties (DW here, UF and LITA via emails) could clear this up, but so far no dice. Descriptions and edition sizes have changed in various places, but honestly I just want to understand which ones I can get where and what they actually look like. I'm not a record flipper, I'm a collector and I'd like to know what I'm buying.

hahaha......

without wanting to sound overly negative+opinionated here folks: urm, crap film, fine but very generic score, a dozen "limited and collectible" versions.......

colour me out !

(oh, don't hate my spiteful sense of humour.....i just can't resist a pun ;)

I hope it wouldn't be too churlish to suggest that seeing as these aren't shipping for two months and no pictures have been seen, that these haven't actually been pressed yet.

Correct, but test pressings have already been received by the label so the release will be going into production soon.

The blurb on DW website, Spencer's post on here & emails all say 500 copies!?
Also the original msg teasingly & misleadingly stated "very limited" & that the DW variant would be a "splatter combination" not the now website advertised "one clear green + one clear brown"..

People with issues over the color variant of the Death Waltz edition should contact Death Waltz.

It's not really a 'hassle'. The music is the same whether it's purple, green with pink polka dots, or gore-splattered orange.

I believe there are quite alot of collectors (including myself) on here who would like to own a copy of each variant.
As per other posts, we're just trying to confirm who has got what & how many & as Death Waltz & LITA regularly read & contribute to the forum I thought they might answer here.

Understandable. It'd probably be best to ask each label in their forum as they may not check the rest of the forums very often.

Unseen Forces will be on tour for a few weeks with Saturnalia Temple. If anyone is going to see them perform, look for The Ajna Offensive vendor table. He's half of U.F.

It's really quite simple folks. Death Waltz issue is one clear brown and one clear green lp. Death Waltz subscriber edition is on green and brown splatter. There are 500 of each kind.
The regular edition can be purchased by anybody, the splatter edition only by Death Waltz subscribers.
If you want both you'll need to buddy up with a DW subscriber and get him to purchase the splatter one for you (assuming they haven't all gone) I suspect uptake won't be all that rapid.

The links to the two DWR editions have previously been noted in this forum:

DWR Exclusive: http://deathwaltzrecordingcompany.com/s ... s-version/

DWR Exclusive Subscriber: http://deathwaltzrecordingcompany.com/s ... dead-2013/

I don't think the Subscriber version is exclusive to subscribers - they just got first dips. But as you can see, only half are gone after 2 weeks (and less than half of the other edition), so yeah, they're not moving that fast.

Although I appreciated the gesture - being a subscriber myself and a big fan of DWR - there is really little sense in making a big deal out of it and sending out exclusive pre-notifications to subbers with these kinds of "limited" numbers. Or (from a business perspective) in limiting the orders to 1 or 2 copies per person as in this case. It was the same with the "The Fog" re-issue and there's still 135 copies left after more than a month: http://deathwaltzrecordingcompany.com/s ... d-edition/

And yeah, I know that the first "The Fog" was gone in no time (a couple of hours?), but I think that was an exception to the rule and due to a combination of genuine demand and hype.

Thanks all for clarifying the situation, I think it was the words "very limited" that as always got me clicking quickly.

I received a test pressing & The Evil Dead is pretty good. I haven't seen the film but the music works alone (maybe better? I really dislike re-makes). Reminds me of The Shining with some very powerful moments. I haven't listened to it completely yet & just remembered there is a lock-groove so will check that out. If it isn't my own music, I don't like spoiling everything before the complete package is in my hands.

The Death Waltz edition arrived today. Death Waltz cover sticker states limited to 500. Not an easy one to get the colour of in a photo:

Here's the Unseen Forces US version. Fairly underwhelming color choices from this vantage point, but the fidelity is pretty darn good.

EDIT: I tried flikr this time and I still get an F-. If you click the little empty box, you'll see it. I've no idea how to post pictures on this board.
