Folks if you are into freaky electronic grooves don't sleep on these cinedelic releases. I was too eager and copped them from the bandcamp page but have been getting killed by the mp3s on the commute.

That Profundita is a killer, not heard of it before.

The cover is weird... It's definitely not Anita Ekberg.

Thanks for the heads up, The Cult Leader. I need another copy of DotD as my current copy has a slight but annoying warp. :/

Thank you Cult!

Was it some wonderful packaging that helped that Lp get it's annoying warp TSJ?

Thanks! Strange is that I can see the item only via this link and not when I search for it on the home page?!?

HNC, I don't think so. I bought a sealed copy off ebay a while back and the packaging looked fine. I think it was just a defective one. Hopefully, this one is flat like a pancake.

Very excited about Interstellar! I think I'll have to hold off until it's available stateside though. Comes out to ~$45 including shipping. Also, I'm kind of disappointed they went with that artwork.

Its missing some good tracks. Coward and S.T.A.Y should have made it, among some others.

I'm happy it includes No Time For Caution, but they should have done this right and had the full track list. If that requires 3-4 records to make that happen, do it! A more suitable label should have got this license. Oh well *shrugs*

This is a kindly reminder to take all your heavy PVC sleeves like the crap Music on Vinyl is using for their "At the Movies" line, toss them and replace with regular 3-4mil polyethylene sleeves.

Heavy PVC sleeves can "offgas" and ruin your records..

Not strictly OST, but I think this is where previous Kosmischer Läufer info was posted...

For anyone who missed out, Kosmischer Läufer is the kosmiche/ motorik inspired training music written by Martin Zeichnete for the East German Olympic program from 1972-1983, and released on beautiful library records in two volumes by Unknown Capability Records in 2013/2014.

UCR are currently working on a 180G re-press of Kosmischer Läufer Volume 1, due in March. Meanwhile a 3rd volume looks set for a Summer release. Click for info

And for European fans Yann Tiersen is dedicating part of his Feb/ March Infinity live set to Martin Zeichnete's wonderful music:

Macready, you old SOB! To my chagrin , I'd not heard of this before, but I am on it now. I find the back story more clever than believable, but the music shines all the same. I'll be snapping these up for certain. Thanking you.

@ Mateo - it was Oiche (of course) who drew my attention to the previous volumes, so I can't take the credit.

And yes, it's almost a library/ soundtrack enthusiast's fantasy concoction - an unheard mid-70's Krautrock-inspired electronic soundtrack to athletic supremacy and the Olympic ideal, made behind the Iron curtain in a climate of secrecy and state control.. But it truly is wonderful music nonetheless.

Any predictions as to where they might be selling Interstellar in the US/Canada?

That Kosmischer Läufer is surely a fake? I thought it was by a Scottish contemporary krautrock band (The Magnificents) no? When something is too good to be true it usually is! There is no evidence that Martin Zeichnete existed in 1970s East Germany....... (apologies if this has already been debated earlier)

It is pretty good music though, it has to be said.

Good news on the Komischer Laufer front! I have Volume 2 and love it, but missed the boat on Volume 1!
