Holy cow. This is absolutely brilliant, why has it taken me so long to get it??



What is it like? Try very 70s synth era, T,Dream, JM Jarre, Vangelis.....even a bit ov Kraftwerk/Cluster! And all with Mr Berry's own quirks of composition (he adores Jesus Christ Superstar, remember...)

I saw him last night in London, fourth gig of his that I've seen. At first, we went like mnay others because of the brilliance of his comic acting and Voice for The Ages, and his great hair+beard combo, and his general super sexiness. The first show was a crossover point, where he was still playing the more tongue in cheek stuff (One Track Lover from Garth Marenghi...) but since then it's all gotten much more serious - two Brit folk-psych albums, one on Acid Jazz, and then this LP of electronic compositions made, literally, during insomnia. Amazing.

Disco's highest recommendation for them's that like their spacey concept electronic albums.

Is there a bad Matt Berry record? Not that I've found. I bought the box set Acid Jazz released for Kill The Wolf in 2013 that included Opium on LP. Just great stuff. He also dropped an EP of sorts on twitter a few years back called Summer Sun. Well worth one's time.
