@Dollarhyde - The Big Gundown is similar, especially since it's Morricone, along with Bruno Nicolai's orchestra, Alessandroni on the guitar (not as much whistling on this album), and also Ella Dell'Orso vocals in some parts. It has it's own feel, including a full-on vocal number, but it fits in with the overall vibe of Morricone's other western scores really well. I recommend it if you are into his other work in this area.

Django is well-known for the theme song. It's a great listen, and covers a lot of ground as far as spaghetti western influences go. It's definitely in the same realm as above, and a quality album with some really good quieter moments mixed in.

Also, the AMS reissues are so well done!

Not a purchase but I just found a copy of the Morning Of Earth soundtrack plus its reimagined version in the charity box at work (both vinyl) - anybody got any thoughts on these? Worth taking home?

Ultraman rocks... the pro wrestling super fighters themes sounds, um, interesting!

Would imagine the shopkeepers' eyes lit up when you plonked this haul on the counter (while the bank manager was weeping openly back home).

Don't forget that list of recommended stores when you have a mo' ;)

I'd say 90% of these are going to be in the store for sale .

We made a great contact out there, soundtrack / anime guy that has three storage facilities for us to attack. Needless to say we are pretty excited about that.

Also our prices will be much better than those on eBay for these titles.

"Also our prices will be much better than those on eBay for these titles."

This...this right here is why you are the best, Man. you are almost singlehandedly undoing the price gauging culture we deal with as collectors and fans.

Accessibility and transparency, that's what consumers want, and you and yours always deliver. will definitely be hitting up margate next time I'm in the UK

@Spencer is there a rough date for the opening of the store? By the looks of those pics I will be leaving much much poorer financially than when I go in ;)

Not yet I would imagine it will be May (first week)
we have decide that any used stock that comes in will go into the physical space for 2 weeks to give folks that want to come and visit a chance to buy it , will then go online if it hasnt sold instore...
we really want to promote Margate and all the great stuff going on down here, we want to be a destination so that when say we have a new release you can come down and pick it up on saturday and browse what we have while we give you coffee and rum balls made by my good lady.

this basically sounds like my dream record shop that i always wanted to open. my wife and i have talked about it for ages. half would be record store/coffee shop, other half would be custom refinished furniture. outfit your record collection and your living room all in one stop!

Layne, you realize that said business would be wildly successful, right? If the Eastern Seabord won't have you, I can think of a few towns in the Upper Lefthand Corner that would gladly take you in.

@mateo - we have been talking about it since we got married 15 years ago. this was after (then) and before (now) most people cared about records, so we never took the plunge. my town could never support it to where we could be successful and live comfortably. we are looking to relocate to an unknown location in the near future, and upper lefthand corner has always been on our minds. :)
