Rescued a crispy copy of The Untouchables from a dusty used bin today.


...also, why can't they make records like this anymore? This record is 56 years old and absolutely blows away 90% of the new records I buy these days. There is so much depth to the sound, so much richness on the low end, it sounds like you're sitting in the damn studio listening to the orchestra cut the track.

Another fine record lurking in the depths of a used bin otherwise filled to the brim with utter garbage. These Glenn Gould recordings are excellent. The disc unfortunately plays a lot noisier than it looked. Maybe I'll find a cleaner one some day.

Digital mastering isn't automatically a kiss of death. A lot of albums that are digitally mastered at high bit rate and sample rate sound great.

His score for Wenders' The American Friend and River's Edge are right up there for me. Amazing.

There's a two volume set of his earlier film music you can pick up quite reasonably, btw. Really great stuff.

Finally listening to this one. The Vice of Killing is my jam. This along with the other music from the 'Dollar' series is really what got me into digging deeper in the soundtrack genre.

Does any one have a source for 10" poly sleeves that comfortably fit these gatefold 10" records?
