@layne, thanks for posting that about flesh for Frankenstein, I didn't even look at the hype sticker and totally didn't even realize they were numbered. 588 over here. I have 307 of blood for Dracula, but that one is numbered on the sleeve itself.

I actually picked up mine at Other Music in nyc. I had trouble finding it online in the U.S. too and figured I'd just go on discogs later, but I walked in to the store on a whim Friday afternoon and there they were. I think they do mail order, othermusic.com. They had a few copies of each when I was there.

Thanks for the heads up. Forced Exposure seems the cheapest that I have found. I'll probably have to hold off for at least a week though cuz I just purchased 2 albums from recommendations from DF podcast.

listening to my I Speak Machine this morning and Side A Track 1 jumps grooves all over the place. horribly. i visually can't see any flaws. but that needle is definitely shifting. i played with the counterweight just to be certain and it skips in all the same places. i'll give it a good wipe-down and try again, but i wanted to see if anyone else could chime in if they have the same issue. the rest of the record plays beautifully. just that one track.

oh, and this album is a must have. incredibly eerie and beautiful.

UPDATE: the last track on side B loses the left channel here and there, but it is a chaotic track so i'm not sure if that is intentional. i'll track down a streaming version somewhere and compare.

Layne, my I speak machine arived yesterday and seems to play fine. Sometimes a dirty stylus can have these sorts of problems if the grooves are shallow so you might want to check that.

This is a really bad record to be listening for problems with as it has all sorts of deliberate glitches and odd sounds

@lazyben - good advice. i'll double check that. i have been know to have a dirty stylus from time to time. and i mean that precisely how it sounds, so get your mind out of the gutter. and you are right about the deliberate glitches. i love this record. it is pretty crazy at times.

Yeah, I had a record that was skipping on the last track on each side but looked fine. I told the label and they asked for a recording to verify it and then they would send me a new one. So I went to record it and couldn't reproduce it which was maddening. It occurred to me that I'd played something used that was pretty dirty in between and had cleaned the stylus after that. So the stylus must have been somewhat dirty in the first place. It really doesn't take much. I clean my stylus at least weekly with an onzow zerodust (which is awesome by the way) and it always has something on it.
