Fairly relaxed RSD in Belfast this morning. Queues manageable and decent levels of stock, but no Moomins or Cinevox box in either Sick Records or Head. Also no Liminanas or Jane Weaver 7s, though they might be on the way.

I picked up BBW, 30 Days, Shogun Assassin and Spasmo, plus Psycho and Sculmadchen-report on 7".
Also The Darjeeling Limited and Air's Playground Love 7" for Mrs Macready.

Still copies of all of the above on the shelves when I left 30 minutes ago...

Pretty hairy at Brighton's most popular record store Resident - they usually have everything!

50 peeps in store, 100 outside. I checked out a couple smaller ones, alas no moomins which was the one I really wanted nor Spasmo, one store had Shogun Assassin 4/4000 and I scored this vvv

probably go back in later :)

Got to Banquet in Kingston at 6.30am - about 100 to 120 in front and by the time the doors opened at 8am, an equal number behind me. Got in about 10.45, which is parr for the course.

They had pretty much everything except the Moomins which I know had distribution issues, so can't complain. Bagged a Shogun Assassin for £23 which I felt was fair - really glad about that as it sounds awesome and nice heavy-feel presentation.

@spun a change of plans for us. On my way in to Kingston with the family... May have to swing by banquet and see what the queues like!

After many years of living in the arse of end of nowhere, this could well be my first proper RSD :D

An early start this morning and I was lucky to get everything I was after. Thanks to Norman Records and Crash Records, Leeds. A great day! Now to catch up on some sleep before listening to this lot.

@pop, that's some haul.

I picked up all of my priority titles.
BBW
Nightsatan
Dylan & the Band
Matt Berry/Mark Morriss
Spasmo
30 Days of Night
White Stripes
Waterboys

Kinda wish I'd picked up Shogun, but I'd spent enough by that point.

@lift it's a beyond expensive set... I got it only because I paid it much less than it's retail price (I have friends...) otherwise I wouldn't picked up, for sure! The box it's nice but it's real price should have been around 50€...

both of our release had high royalty rates hense the price BBW rate is higher than the cost of production !

In Stockholm, Sweden, the 7" box was 1100 crowns, ca. 125 Euros. Even some hours in, there were at least two left.
Went to four stores, without picking up anything. The only other soundtrack titles I saw were Spasmo and My name is Nobody.

@max fair enough. I see it on the shelves thought this was highlighted as a holy grail for soundtrack rsd but cant see why its that price even for collectibilty. I only know profondo on there myself so maybe i need to get more into that scene?

@Spence fairplay just an observation compared to the £20 odd of last years 4 releases. With so many great things to grab its just wishful thinking to keep costs down..

@liftman
Even aside from royalties, this year's DW releases really strike me as deluxe by comparison with previous years. I think you pay a RSD premium for most of these releases.

If anything, I think the pricing of the 7"s is too high. Many are £9-12, when they'd be £5-7 any other day of the year. I don't think a 7" sound be half the price of an LP.

Mini-moan out of the way, this has been my favourite RSD by far. Met some new people, bought a lot of new records and didn't miss out on anything I really wanted.

@chiefbrody i havent even opened mine yet so haven't done the comparisons yet

But yes don't get me wrong whatever views on RSD aside, looking at it positively, it's an enjoyable experience. Banquet rocks with their friendly and helpful attitude, as well as their hard work (as well as Spence and all involved in RSD). I feared the queues were gonna be awful this year but no worse than any other year. Scored alot of gems and look fwd to the subsequent spins!

None of the store around me had Loops of Doom :(

Hopefully the remaining copies will go up on Mondo and Transmission in a few days.
