I caught Turbo Kid tonight at the single screening of it (across Canada, one night only) and thought it was great.
Slow to start off, but once it got going I really liked it.
Practical effects were great. Peter Jackson would be proud.

Soundtrack sounded awesome on the big screen. I'll definitely be grabbing it day one.

@juiceycow

Caught Turbo Kid last night at the London Frightfest - you're right about the early Peter Jackson influence - especially the mutant rat near the beginning.

The music was high in the mix and liked the repetition of the theme DW released - in essense the 'love theme' of the movie - it really wouldn't have been the same or as much of an 1980s homage without Le Matos.

Just a damn shame we couldn't have grabbed the soundtrack when walking out of the theatre :)

Gonna stick on their 'Join US' LP this morning while we wait for news of when the Turbo Kid full soundtrack will show.

Just got back from turbo kid. I though it was really special. It hit a lot of great notes for me. That OST will be on heavy rotation

Woohoo! Too much fun, go see this and give it your support! It's... Mega man meets mad max with an evil dead joie de vivre?

Soundtrack will be great, I think they used one track from Join Us in the movie.

I didn't make it to FrightFest unfortunately. Are there any other screenings of this happening in the South of England/Wales.

Really was looking forward to seeing this but child care logistics got in the way. Don't really want to see this on DVD until ive seen it on the big screen.

Saw Turbo Kid last night at the Mayfair Theatre in Ottawa, Canada. The three filmmakers were in attendance as they all live in Montreal which is only a hop, skip and a jump away from Ottawa. It was a packed house and the audience were good and rowdy for it.

Interesting tidbit - someone asked about the choice of Le Matos for composer. They said they were good friends with one of the Le Matos guys and, aside from being composer, he is also the film's Director of Photography! So, not only is J.P Bernier responsible for the wicked sounds in the film, he's also responsible in part for the great visuals.

I've been to a record shop in Leamington Spa today and noticed they had quite a few copies of various RSD released by DW, especially from last year. So if you're in the Coventry/Birmingham area it might be worth dropping in.

@Spencer Wow! That was very nice to listen to here at work! By the way, I don't think I will be able to operate as expected after that cover at the very end. I would love to learn more about the performer(s) :)

Just a heads up

Black Belly Of The Tarantula
Umberto
Steve Moore

will be up online next week + all our exclusive distributed titles will be up too.
Save your pennies.

All three of these only had 500 pressed and leftovers are low.

Umberto and Steve Moore will NOT be repressed in a record store edition - these are strictly ltd to 500 for the screenings we did.

Spencer,

What is the Steve Moore release? Is the Umberto release the "In the Night" 7"?

Thanks,
Mike

Anyone else notice that the thread for the Subscription 4 Bonus Release is now gone? I guess it's definitely not happening if Spencer doesn't even want the thread around anymore. I can't image that is a mistake since all the other threads were transferred over and that one had been around for a long time.
