Just how rare is the original Akira OST on Victor Japan?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/AKIRA-RARE-MANG ... 488220c003

I see that one copy sold on discogs for over $700 USD! I don't see any auction history on either popsike/collectorsfrenzy. I have zero interest in any of the recent bootlegs. @Tigerlab - save me.

That rippled/bubbled PVC outer sleeve on Akira is a textbook example of the problems PVC sleeves can cause. You can clearly see how the pattern follows the actual record itself within the sleeve, indicating that the PVC has reacted with the record. There's a very real chance the record will have visible and/or audible damage at this point.

@Pain_Bubbles - Good point on this example. I wonder how long it's been in that PVC sleeve...

Not sure if anyone would be interested, but at the moment there is a used original promo copy of the album "The Unexplained" by Ataraxia (Mort Garson) on Amazon right now. I already have a copy, but figured someone on here would be interested in picking it up. It's supposedly a VG+ copy. It's pretty cheap at around $25 shipped.

Damn dude, right after I picked up that reissue! You rule for the heads up, someone really should grab that

One of my mates is going to be selling off his Silva edition of Big Trouble in Little China this week. If anyone is interested I can let him know before he whacks it up on eBay.

Same version as this one

Nice but it is too pricey for a cover+labels with some stickers... ;)

@max - Agreed, otherwise I might have went for it. I have a lead on another copy in the US right now that I am currently negotiating.

for anyone in the DFW area...

It might be worth your time to stop by the Dallas Central Library downtown from 6:30-8:30 tomorrow 9/17. Could be a total bust with pop garbage and beat up classical records, but I'm going to check it out.

OK here is the haul. They limited everyone to 25 albums max, so I had to leave some behind! Oh well :) I have to check my shelves, but the titles with ** should be duplicates of ones I already have. They all of course have various library ID stickers on the jacket and label, and many were stored in heavy PVC sleeves and could very well have offgassing. The only one I've listened to so far is Village of 8 Gravestones which does have some lightly audible offgassing. (why do libraries still use these jackets!?)

Part 1:

Dressed To Kill - Pino Donaggio**
The Terminator -- Brad Fiedel**
Miskima - Philip Glass**
Koyaanisqatsi - Philip Glass**
Butterfly - Ennio Morricone
The Omen - Jerry Goldsmith
Brainstorm - James Horner**
Carrie - Pino Donaggio
Piranha - Pino Donaggio
Village of 8 Gravestones - Yasushi Akutagawa
Aliens - James Horner**
Flesh for Frankenstein - Claudio Gizzi
Dracula - Claudio Gizzi
