Hello all! After getting my account up and running again it's nice to be amongst friends in these new surroundings. Hope everyone is ok. Thought i'd just post about some recent library purchases of mine that i'm currently really enjoying:

Picked this up while the site was down along with another killer cam library.

Although presented as a library lp, with descriptions and suggestions on each track, the record is titled as two soundtracks. This goes for the whole cam pre series (9 in total). This is Pre 2 by stefano torossi. Contains osts to omicidio per vocazione (my deadly inheritance) and the film e stato bello amarti.

For fans of electronic music experimentation, specifically modular synthesis, I have to recommend the new album from Anthony Child (aka Surgeon). Some of you might be familiar with his long-standing 4/4 techno output as Surgeon, but he has been going deep on modular synthesizers lately and really exploring pure sound creation. I know he likes to vacation in Hawaii, and this seems to have provided some excellent inspiration. Have a listen:

Wonder if any one was colorblind enough to grab the clear splatter AFRICA MINIMA! I'm not crying clear splatter tears any longer since that über noisey Ex_Machina from Invada. That was when I turned back to black.

I have to say I'm struggling with the new site if I'm honest. Don't get me wrong, it's great that we have it, I just find it hard to navigate and find what I want. I need to sit down and spend some with it (which I don't have much of currently). Apologies for posting in the wrong spot. My email notifications seem to be a bit hit and miss so if anyone hears of any library releases upcoming this thread seems to email me when updated so maybe we could just use this for new releases too? Up for opinions, I like the convenience of all in one place but that's me.
@volzom Hello friend, Went for black on the Egisto purely from a monetary side of things. How comes clear is noisy? Isn't clear it's natural state and Doesn't it have to have black added to it for it to be black? I don't doubt your ears for a minute but intrigued that by leaving it 'as is' it sounds worse. i've been playing the 'Aquarium' and 'Pop-Paraphrenia' files on and off on repeat since last night, simply wonderful.

I don't have any issues with clear wax. Clear spatter is a pain in the ass however. Like I mentioned, that Invada made me turn, but I have heard other people on here complaining about the Waxwork Trick 'R Treat clear splatter as well.
Forget it! People can buy all those colorful limited records they want , as long as I get my good old black one, which in my aesthetic idiosyncracy looks way cooler on the platter than a childish finger-paint.

This pro/con colourful records discussion is getting tiresome, n'est-ce pas?

My Roundtable/Omni reissues arrived today, so I wanted to make a post comparing the reissue to the original pressing.

Good:

--The reissue is well-sourced. It sounds much like the original but with more "space" in the low end. The low end in general seems accentuated, for example the low fuzz of the electronics in the opening track are more prominent on the reissue than in the original. The pressing is nice and quiet.

--They opted for a replica of the Sermi label and did a decent job. I like replica labels so this was a plus for me, and their prior releases haven't had them.

--The liner note is interesting, well-researched and well-written (as usual).

Meh:

--The reissue has a thin direct board jacket whereas the original is a heavier tip-on. At first I thought the cover was a scan, but careful review shows the 'citta notte' lettering is not in the exact same spot. I'm not sure what they did. Maybe they started with a scan, re-created the typography to get it whiter than a faded original, and used photoshop to clean it up. The art is slightly fuzzier in the reissue, and there are subtle differences.

--The rarely seen photos touted on the OBI are the same two pictures they just used for Bioritmi. While they're cool pics it would have been nice to see something else.

--The reissue plays more slowly than the original. I synced these up on two quartz-locked decks, and by the end of Side A the original was about six seconds ahead of the reissue. How strange

Overall this is a quality reissue of a superb library album and is highly recommended.
