Haha I don't think the vinyl itself would have affected the poor quality of the recordings in anyway... Probably would have enhanced the quality if anything! Maybe one day I'll get them done.

New Finders Keepers/Cacaophonic - always loved this minimal Pierre Henry horror score, awesome to have it in my collection. Beware though - Malefices is really just a 7" EP, taking up a pretty-short side A. Flip side is other compositions for ballet.

Another FK/Cak release. Don't know this composer, but recognised the cover images from a movie I own called Help, Help, The Globolinks!. A German Science Fiction Opera for Children. From the 60s. No....really. I urge you to seek out. It will blow your already blown minds.

Uhm'd and ahh'd over this (thinking, umm what's the point?) - then woke up suddenly and realised it is a profoundly beautiful release of a much loved score! Luckily I managed to snag one from Norman Records.....Giovanni's intended songs-only version of the soundtrack that's represented here works brilliantly, it does feel like a totally different experience (despite my initial reservations). How many versions of this can you have!? Well, it seems.....one more.

Again, I went for the white vinyl/"kiss" sleeve version, thinking that would satisfy me fine.....then again I woke up and realised a) i actually prefer this artwork, and (more importantly) b) my white vinyl version is pretty damn crackly (sorry Invada/variant lovers...) and for such incredible glacial sci-fi music I needed to try out the virgin black wax. And....it sounds fucking superb. (sorry again, coloured-wax-heads...)

Your Solaris white was cracky? I had huge problems with side B track one. First there was crackling and in the middle of the track started pops, ending that the whole records jammed to one part. I'm going to contact Invada about this.

@Tron4Life Yeah, problems with your copy sounds much more extreme than my own, but mine certainly wasn't great. To tell the truth, I'm getting more and more cautious about the colour vinyl thing when there's a black wax option :$

To my knowledge, colour vinyl only has few more production parts. There's more risk that something goes wrong, but nothing compared to picture discs. But I'd be glad to hear more, if somebody knows more about pressing colour vinyls.

Best soundtrack EVER

I've been holding off on it for a long time and just now finally bought a copy of the Medical Records reissue of Tony Carey's Explorer & Yellow Power. I've got to say I wish I would have picked this one up a long time ago, as they are great records. Synth pop without vocals...lovely! Really it reminds me a lot of German synth pop from the late 70s/early 80s, especially Michael Cretu's work before Enigma. Anyways, just thought I'd share because it seems to have gone fairly unnoticed, and it is a really good 2xLP reissue. These are not just synth exploration tracks at all, they're definitely well-structured pop songs.

It seems anytime I see the LD for sale the promo record is missing.

I'd love to see this whole soundtrack on vinyl. I know it was released on CD a while back. Such a fun listen!
