That Maoivvi 2x7" EP has some great tracks, but would be a bit easier to spin as a single 12". Double 7" albums take some special devotion to fully appreciate, heh.

Those are good prices for OG copies.....the most recent AJFA I saw locally went for $50 and that was considered a good price.

The Elektra pressings have gone way up in value. I was in a local record shop the other day and they had an Elektra pressing of Ride The Lightning for $60. I wonder what they would have tried to sell the Megaforce edition for. The prices get crazier everyday.

Yeah, I was surprised they weren't priced higher. I think prices went up because the sound quality of recent reissues got panned. I don't have those to compare. I used to have a Japanese pressing of ...and justice for all, but I sold it a few years ago. Should've kept that one!!

Also snagged an original copy of Soundgarden's Badmotorfinger, a steal for $24.

You snagged a great deal on those Texas. The Elekrta pressing of the Metallica black album is really rare. I was tempted to buy some of the 45 speed reissues of the Metallica catalog a few years back, but then I always found an excuse to pick something else up because I had the original pressings. Nice grab on Badmotorfinger too. Enjoy!

My girlfriends son loves the soundtrack to Little Miss Sunshine but found it to expensive for his little wallet. Because it is the end of the school year and he did an excellent job studying I bought it for him. And it gave me an excuse to buy some records for myself to save on shipping ;-)

I'm on a Joe Renzetti kick just now, after talking to him on the DFC about his career/the Basket Case 2+Frankenhooker LP from Ship to Shore (show will air this Saturday!)
But I'm also late to this film, having recently seen and enjoyed thanks to a nod from the ShockWaves podcast!
And of course, it's another sweet notch on my Varese bedpost ;)

I have always had a soft spot for this flick. Even though it was so very different in tone and presentation than the first two, I've always enjoyed it on it's own merits (and for the cheese). I picked up a sealed copy of the score last year, I believe. Good stuff there.

I thought the film was pretty cool! Lots of really interesting in-camera effects, and that great 'frozen parking garage' sequence with the Dimensional Puddle Vortex, haha.... and of course, (aherm) Nancy Allen.

Only real downside was Tom Skerrit's thoroughly wooden performance. Dude was barely there really, must have had stuff on his mind.

Oh, and the small matter of a terrible tragedy (which I barely knew the details of until I recently looked into it - makes it quite a sad watch on the whole.)

Gary Sherman was certainly a super-interesting director - Raw Meat, Dead & Buried, Vice Squad....yeah man!!

PIII is an odd guilty pleasure, but I had the reverse experience of @ScoJo -- I had heard about the death of the young actress before ever seeing the film. In fact, it was some kind of tabloid news headline that went through my small circle of friends, and we all thought she died from some tragic mishap on the film set (or haunted film set as some were claiming at the time).

Interesting notes from IMDB:

"The finished film proved to be a critical and box office failure. Sherman has said that although he is proud of portions of the movie (particularly the creative use of mechanical "in camera" effects instead of the traditional optical effects often seen in movies of that genre), it is the least favorite of his films.

O'Rourke's death complicated MGM's marketing for Poltergeist III, out of fear of appearing to be exploiting her death.[4] Skerritt and Allen were discouraged from giving interviews about the film to avoid questions about O'Rourke's death.[5]"

A little care package from Not Not Fun Records. I went there for the Body Awareness cassette, which is amazing, and left with that and the Les Halles LP/tape combo. They threw in the CD so I'll probably give that a spin, too.

Directly from Amazon, it was an Amazon Marketplace Deal with an "Amazon Inspected" sticker. They let me keep it and refunded my money since they only had one available. I managed to peel off the stickers but it did peel off some of the gloss of the cover so there are some spots. Oh well.

Re: poltergeist 3. I have an interesting relationship with this film. I will rail against it loudly and without compromise most of the time, yet every time I watch the first two, barely a week goes by before I pop it in, and enjoy the hell out of the in camera effects and some of the rather grisly material in it. It's the only film of the series that plays like a typical horror film in a lot of ways, largely relegating the family dynamics that make the first two so relatable to the back burner until the very end.

I can also remember my parents watching it on tv one night when I was a kid. They were going out and were waiting for the babysitter to get there and I was sitting on their bed watching the movie with my mom. Their room was all white, very 80s, with large modern mirrors over the dressers next to TV. Needless to say my perception of where the film stopped and bedroom began was a bit blurry, scared the ever loving hell out of me.

@Bez - Cat in the Brain is definitely worth a viewing, but it can be a bit polarizing for both Fulci and Frizzi fans. I do remember a few forum members remarking that it was the material from CitB that was the highlight of the Frizzi 2 Fulci live concert last year...
