For a second there, I thought this was a preorder for the Gravity soundtrack on vinyl. Anyone know if it's going to be released on wax?

I would also like to know this. It sounds interesting.

Although if it were released, it looks like it would be on Water Tower Music, which usually means a huge pressing run and mediocre quality.

I contacted Silva Screen about a vinyl version of Gravity and got this response, sounds promising!:

"There are plans but I can't tell you anything more about it at the moment. It is most certainly on our radar!"

It's the same response when I asked them about the announced vinyl of the Pusher ost by Orbital (very cool!) but I've lost hopes... But a Gravity vinyl it's essential so c'mon Silva, you have to do it!!! ;)

I hated this film, I really don't get the praise. Crap acting, dodgy science and post-production 3D effects. It's baffling. Soundtrack was quite good though.

maxvelvet: I haven't seen the remake you mention, but I can also recommend the OST to the original "Pusher" (directed by Nicolas Winding Refn, his debut movie). The OST is by Peter Peter who also scored Refn's "Valhalla Rising".

Refn wanted songs by AC/DC, Underworld etc., but he couldn't afford that, so he asked Peter Peter to come up with tracks that sounded exactly like it :)

@Rasmus: I will listen surely this 2X Peter soundtrack but I don't think there's a vinyl release, right? ;)

No, sorry :)

I just checked the Discogs page, and I have to correct myself: It's not just Peter Peter (in the band The Prisoner) who did the music, but also Koxbox and a few other bands. Düreforsög and White Zombie also have a few tracks on the album, but I doubt they were made specifically for the movie.

It's been awhile since I listened to the CD, and it's really the Peter Peter stuff that stands out, so that's what I remembered :)

Check out the intro song (by Bleeder/Peter Peter) - and turn it up LOUD (I love those drums) :D

If you liked the Gravity score check out the latest Roly Porter record Life Cycle Of A Massive Star

composer of Gravity most certainly checked Roly's previous records before scoring the film it is way to close for comfort.

Gravity score is great but when it goes all Avatar at the end my ears were moaning....

That Roly Porter album is fantastic. I saw him in a church in Hackney last year, he completely tore the place up. Everything on Subtext Records is just excellent.

I saw him too at that Hackney church show last year. I'm afraid I have to (politely) disagree - I find him very generic. Sounds like a Ben Frost/Tim Hecker rip to me.
