I got my Brigitte record today too. It's super nice. worth the (extremely long) wait!

How are the two on the bottom?
Agreed on the Brigitte record. A beautiful all around release!
SexWorld is a bit all over the place, but I dig it. A nice variety of tunes.
But I'd have to say Sensual Encounters is the highlight of the Vinegar Syndrome releases. A lot of funky jams on that one. It does however have some..."dialog" from the film mixed in. So a warning if you're listening with others in hearing distance.
Both are minimal package-wise, but for the price ($20shipped) that's reasonable. Nice quiet vinyl too.

Nice pile you have there, Bez. Scott Walker is probably in my all-time top ten and the Library of Sound Grooves series is terrific. I wonder if Semi Automatic will do another series. Between LoSG and Killer Bullets of the Spaghetti West, they are on quite a roll.

Thanks. Love that LoSG series as well. But they were quite expensive to get over here when the were first released. Now you can get them for better prices. Sometimes it is better to wait... But in most cases that is very hard to do :-)

All time top ten? That's some bona fides right there folks - listen hard!
Yeah, I wondered if I should make that statement, but after a modest amount of consideration at 0300 or thereabouts, I decided to greenlight myself. If I sat down and did the hard work, he might fall just outside that range, but he might not. Walker is one of the great musical talents of our time, I think, and a pretty fascinating story as well. It's great to see his genius appreciated even though he is still very firmly an outsider. He's ratcheted up his output lately by lapping his usual one release every decade pace. A few collaborations, a few completely original works, all excellent, all worth hearing. The Childhood of a Leader score is no exception. But I'm just some guy who loves Alien 4 so what do you want outta me?

You know, they weren't cheap here either. I know next to nothing about the label, but I always assumed they were from outside North America.

@mateo - oh believe me, I'm with you all the way sir.

as a side note...and forgive my impertinence.....but you appear to be carrying that AlienRes crack around with you? i honestly meant no ill - in fact, to show my good faith, i actually plan to spool that very flicker-show myself this week and try (in my 10th attempt) to find more than 5 things to love about it.

never say never sir, never say never!!!

Oh and ps - if you're not familiar with Walker's astonishing score for POLA X, i genuinely can't praise it enough. Bewilderingly pretentious (yet fascinating!) film, one of the most lush orchestral scores of the 90s. And THIS happens halfway through, for good measure! (crank it way loud...)

@ScoJo -I almost posted about Pola X since it is another score and we are at STBC after all, but didn't want to frighten off the uninitiated. It's a great piece. Plus, Bill Callahan is cameoing on guitar in this scene so double points.

As for Alien IV, the only crack I carry is the one I was born with and the kind one smokes out of a disused lightbulb so perish the thought. I simply love a good ribbing, mine own included, and couldn't resist dropping a callback. I've many (many) shortcomings, but thin skin is not one of them. Anyhow, if you can't find much to love in Resurrection after ten viewings, then I think the die is pretty well cast. I wouldn't give it more than another eighteen or twenty viewings, tops, before i'd start thinking about throwing in the towel.

I've no idea how to upload pictures on here, am I missing something?!?!

Anyhoo, I've just received the new press of Chinatown from LITA and it's lovely.

Highly recommend if you're missing it.

Everyone that doesn't have this score is missing it.

I am missing it :-) But will get it, because I don't like missing it. Is there a reason to pick up this re-issue in stead of an original or another version? Extra tracks or what have you?

Last couple of weeks these came in. 45's are addictive!
