If I was to hazard a guess, I'd say the blue and purple on the original are spot (Pantone) colours, whereas the new version would be printed CMYK from a scan of the original.

i dare to say that you are absolutely right. this is the typical problem when converting to digital CMYK...

will check them out once i get through the pile but it might take a while...

That's one wicked care package you've got there, $1,000,000. I'll let you know about any submersible tracks on Piranha when I find the time to spin the dang thing.

I didn't get a screaming deal on any of my three pickups, but they're all records long on my wishlist and they were priced fairly.

@Bez - Curb your tongue, knave!

This arrived from the land of the rising sun. More pictures will follow.
Let's say that the sickness got me. It got me good...

There was a note as well. I have no idea what it says except the obvious and the fantastic bear!

What a haul, @bez. It's been a long time since I got carried away to that extent! I miss those days...

Always ahead of the curve as I am, I've just picked up this (apologies for the stock image, I'm going to try this 'imgr' thing soon.

Indeed :-)
I went a bit overboard. But I have to say this is the best batch of records that has ever arrived at my place. This stack makes me a bit giggly.
True Romance and Airwolf/Knight Rider I already posted:

Then there is some sci-fi and western:

And to finish of:

I'm selling/trading the Diabolica without the obi. I'll post in the for sale thread later.
I have to say that the Japanese take incredible care of their records. Or they just don't play them :-)

Yeah, Japan is certainly the place to go record shopping if you can get over there yourself... and manage to wrap 'em securely in your suitcase for the flight back (oh, and convince the wife that 'these are a bargain compared to back home')

Only scratched up/ dodgy record I bought there was an ex-library edition of Capricorn One OST which was obviously loaned out many times. But that was either ultra cheap or given free as part of a larger batch I picked up.

My best score was a handful of Battleship Yamada LPs for 100 Yen each. It's then amusing to see some places in the West charging £20-30 for the same. That said, their true value is probably somewhere in the middle of the two.

I'm both envious & worried at the expense when looking at your haul @Bez :)

It does mean I cannot buy anymore records for the next couple of months :-)
I am going to California on RSD and having a road trip for two weeks. All my funds need to go there. And when I am back I need to pay back my credit card loan :-)
Unfortunately DWRC and Waxwork are releasing some great stuff and I know I am finding it hard to not jump on their limited version... Please let Hellraiser be an autumn release!

@monster - I passed on a nice copy of Hellraiser a few years ago and now regret it. I have not seen one since.

@Bez - If you are going to LA, I recommend Amoeba Music on Sunset Blvd. If you are looking to save money, you might want to avoid it though. ;)

Amoeba is the best. All three of them.

Creature Features

Dark Delicacies

Amoeba

My entire life jammed into 4 stores.
Sad to say I've been to neither Creature Features nor Dark Delicacies, but I can definitely second Mount Analog and Atomic. Man, I'm getting jealous thinking of an LA dig.

Thanks for the tips @Monster
Definitely will check out a couple.
And probably all three Amoeba's.

I made a similar trip to California when I was 15 together with my dad. Now I am talking the 17 year old son of my girlfriend. He is also into records at the moment so good times ahead.
We're staying in Hollywood for two days or so and then going to San Diego from where we will drive along the pacific cost highway to San Fransisco.

That sounds beautiful, Bez. And it's a great drive. Plenty of great record shops in the Bay Area as well. Excited for you, mang.
