I listened to the Band of Brothers soundtrack on Spotify this afternoon, and I must say, a deluxe, multi-lp pressing of this would be really cool. I think that of all of the HBO minseries, this is my favorite soundtrack.

For Bride of Frankenstein, I ended up ditching my Amazon pre-order and getting it from Norman Records. The price was decent, and it was in stock; I didn't want to wait for Amazon to get it together.

Good call 10T5!

We could have The Proposition, while we're at it ? ;)

Has anyone mentioned "The Keep" yet, T. Dream? Obvious one, I know.....but who knows, one day! :)

I would second @10T5 for The Road. That would be a welcmoe addition to my collection. Could inspire some cool artwork as well in the hands of the right artist.

Greetings everybody, decided to register here as I've been reading up for a while.

I would like to ask if anyone has the recent Seven Samurai OST LP with CD on DOXY Records (a division of Mirumir?), can you comment on the quality?

Also does it come with some insert or maybe printed inner sleeve?

Thanks in advance.

apologies if I have missed this brought up elsewhere, but one of my wishlist items would be another reissue of the original Maniac - Mondo's 500 copies doesn't seem sufficient to meet market demand. there is such demand that my arm was twisted to sell my copy - and I miss it!

I'd like the following:

Nico Fidenco - Zombi Holcaust

Secret Life

I just visited my local record store (Zia Records) and checked out soundtracks. The Secret Life of Walter Mitty soundtrack LP asking price is $63! Ridiculous.

I'd love for an official release of the original Fright Night soundtrack, Creepshow 2 (I can dream, anyway), Aerobicide (aka Killer Workout) and Muppet Christmas Carol on vinyl.

Re-release wise, I'd love for Radioactive Dreams, Rad and The Cook The Thief His Wife And Her Lover to get a repress.

And I'd also like a release of the song from the end of the John Candy film Delirious, but that's NEVER going to happen.

Warning: Copyright/licensing question:

I'd love to see some classic Herrmann re-releases and am surprised that his back catalogue of OST recordings haven't been made that readily available on vinyl. Other soundtrack releases from similar periods as Herrmann's work are all over the place.

I imagine this has something to do with copyright ownership by the big labels or studios?

I've picked up some of his later stuff including Brian De Palma's "Sisters" & "Obsession", Scorsese's "Taxi Driver" etc. and a cool CBS radio recording of "A Brave New World" from back in the 50's.

Maybe this is for another thread topic but I'd love to know more about the issues and processes of arranging a release. Bet it can be a real ball-ache? :) And I wonder which releases have nearly but not quite gone through due to these copyright/licensing issues.

Oh, I'd love a release of China O'Brien purely for the random Tori Amos song.

my current wishlist:

a re-issue of carpenter's "christine", with the nicest death waltz treatment possible.

then,
what i'd really love to see, is a vinyl release of sky wikluh's soundtrack to "a serbian film" aka. "srpski film". the movie itself is really cruel and is definitely not for everybody, but the score is great from beginning to the end.

then, "solange" on vinyl, pleaaaase!

or this:

and this, finally:

I'd like to see some of the following...

Old Boy (one of my fav soundtracks from any film!)

Eraserhead (got the sacred bones vinyl, we need more)

The Shining (expanded)

A new Apocalypse Now release...they could go to town on the packaging etc.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre (original, someone do something other than Dutch Oven's release, an official one, at least!)

The Fly (Cronenberg)

Videodrome

Lost Highway (full of awesome & dark discordance)

Mulholland Drive (expanded)

The Thing

Sympathy for Lady Vegeance (right up there with Old Boy)

A Twin Peaks tv collection of some sort...recently, masses have been put out on digital downloads, there needs to be a 'beauty in vinyl' for the greatest TV music/soundtrack ever...it will not be topped!

Blue Velvet expanded...especially one which features Mysteries of Love (church organ), the car scene with Jeff & Sandy outside the church!

Dune, Toto & Eno (Lynch) The Duke's Death...(appropriately) is literally to die for, would be great to see an expanded vinyl reissue.

Any Lynch tbh...he is one of the greatest cinematic sound designers that has ever lived (not forgetting Splett)...and Badalamenti is sublime too! Such a massive archive too.

The OldBoy soundtrack's great (got it with the original Korean set*), with a set of cool track names as well - and there's huge scope to be done with the artwork as there was a lot of quality wallpaper involved in that! Same with A Tale Of Two Sisters and A Bittersweet Life.

*Always found it a bit odd that all the TV promo stuff in Korea for OldBoy (and the music on the DVD menus) was Starsailor...

The Fly & Videodrome are both easy to find on vinyl. But yeah Howard shore is the man.

The thing soundtrack is so great
, I don't think I want to see it reissued though.

Lost highway, haven't seen vinyl, I have the CD.

I bet TCM is a rights nightmare or the masters are lost, otherwise this should have come out at some point over the last 30 years. Who knows.

Lost Highway goes for WAY too much on eBay. I've seen it listed for $400. It needs a repress.
