America Giovane n2 is up. Can anyone shed some light on this treasure coming from Leonardi??? This is bizarre. A company called Pirames international SRL is publishing this, quick google says they have bad reputation.

Out of curiosity how are you searching for these? Like the Hingross LP for example, were you looking for that specifically or did you somehow stumble across it?

I go on Discogs and go to Leonardi Edizioni srl - and just clicking everything there, sub labels and all that. I seem to have now the most after many hours of computer. Also I checked out the smaller labels not directly connected to Leonardi off Discogs Italian labels thread. God knows what is still out there.

There seems to be some kind of rights thing going on. Cinedelic owns the rights to digital sale for L'uomo Dagli Occhi La specchio by Brugnolini, right? Still it's for sale on Itunes and published on Spotify under Edizioni Leonardi Srl under license to Pirames International Srl. Also Under Pompelmo is on Spotify too.

Leonardi and it's sub labels has some of the best italian library music there is, heres hoping to GOD this stays. Might be over 150+ albums now from Leonardi

@Steve&Mateo: just returned from vacation today. looking forward to spin some odd vinyls, haha!
i was curious when the first of you would notice the Leonardi thing. funny thing is that i have realized that the day they have put these up (14th of september i believe) and spend like the whole weekend listening. it felt like a dream come true because i was able to listen to so many that i tried to hunt down without any luck. also a fair bunch of unknown stuff was released. on one hand, i felt so goddamn great, on the other hand it was a huge disappointment to hear some titles that were on my want list for a long time. but the good thing is that i have discovered some titles that are much better than i have expected so i have added them to my want list instead, haha!
apparently these guys recorded these from original vinyl as you can hear on some of the ones that i heard. also you can recognize hat some of the covers they have used are battened. many sound really terrible if you ask me. also you can hear clicks and pops if you listen close enough. i contacted the guys to ask if they are going to release the remaining ones because many are missing. i have even offered them to use my records because i have titles that have not been released yet. they have told me that they are going to release another batch soon. to be honest i felt like they are not the biggest professionals but i could be wrong. they were not able to answer me questions on missing catalogue numbers so i guess the chance to see the FULL Leonardi catalogue being published digital is small.

like i mentioned, first i was really amazed but now i feel a little drained because there is no more mystery and the magic is gone. but on the other hand, the quality of these records is quite incredible and nothing can ever beat the magic of a original record. now i can search for the missing titles more systematically and will probably save a lot of money...

but all in all it is a great thing because they can introduce the music to many curious and adventurous kind of listener like many people on this forum.

speaking of Leonardi, with the misty and somehow gloomy autumn knocking at my door i had to play this one again. did not hear it for a while and still consider it one of the best library records in my collection. of course the super simple and straightforward cover art strikes again but the music on this one is special. this must be the darkest, creepiest haunting record that i have ever heard. none of the horror scores that i know come close to it. although the instrumentation is really simple Fernando Mainardi has created a extra special atmosphere. this one is hard to find but luckily it can be heard now through spotify and alike...

Excellent. Yeah, I feel a bit the same. The veil seems to been lifted. I was in kinda of a mild shock questioning that this was true at first. This update on Leonardi has kind of changed my opinion on owning originals, that Remigio Ducros album Misticismo is amazing..... but it seems so out of reach.
BUT all in all this is very welcome entry to the mysterious library music. Some of the best music i've ever heard, it's really incredible. I also was kinda hoping they release it bit by bit as this is maybe a bit too exhilirating to get it all of it at once.
Quick tip that if you search on Spotify " Edizioni Leonardi " you come up with the playlist containing ALL of the albums they have released.
Put into spotify exactly this:

label:"Edizioni Leonardi"

and then click albums. there you have it. All of it. I'm gonna hold a listening party....

just played another one from the obscure Grifo label. Enrico Cortese is mostly known for his contributions to the first two Nike records but the out put is quite small. anyway, really like this one but mostly for the origin of my battened copy. this comes straight from the Vatican Radio station (check the stamp on the second picture) and this makes is the holiest record that i ever owned. these saints and monks must have had used this one a lot for whatever as i can see from the numerous different markings and notes from the back side. many of them cues have the word Roma written behind them. this is one thing that really attracts me when i get library records. just the immagination where these come from and what they were used for is so goddamn....ah, excuse me, i mean heavenly exciting...

of course the endless creativity of the cover art strikes again, haha!

a licensed (and much easier to get) version exists on the french Sonimage label.

1. the bidder mistaked it for Beat Gregoriano
2. the bidder did not know about the published Leonardi catalogue and expects this to be great
3. the bidder is a Leonardi completist

Almost the same price as a sealed copy of Eruzioni on fly went for, and that is a killer record.

i would really like to know who is sitting behind the trigger for this Psychground record auction? can't immagine a library aficionado would be that much after this thing. i think it must be some crazy psych/prog collectors. this must be one of europe's most obscure records for this scene. only 200-300 made and never sold commercially. damnit! only writing this it excites me as well. if i only had the necessary small change...
