@Cult - Nice one! I would love to pick up any version of that LP, but it's a tough find. I'm just happy to have it on CD.

I picked up an interesting Japanese promo copy of this multi-titled sound stage massacre:

ImageAKA: Deliria - Stage Fright - Bloody Bird

This album is arranged by Julien Pascal, Maurice Delanoe, and Pierre Louice. It opens with the 80's italo-disco track Mystery Rouge written by Pascal:

There are a couple different mixes of the original Simon Boswell & Stefano Mainetti tracks, possibly remixed by these three guys for release in Japan. Some are a bit more dancefloor-oriented, which would make sense given the opener, but there are also an equal number of orchestra and piano versions of the Aquarius theme. I'm not sure if those are unique to a Japanese version of the film or not.

There is also film dialogue and sound fx between some of the tracks, similar to the Halloween LP, including a dialogue insert in English. The original Simon Boswell tracks are not on this album, so I would recommend his Stage Fright album, as it's exceptionally good. The Deliria CD on Lucertola Media has the most original Boswell/Mainetti soundtrack material:

@Cult: excellent pickup!

@Deaf: how do those releases fall into your hands :-) I was bidding on a version of Aquarius in January I think but it went way above what I was willing to pay. One person kept outbidding me.

@Bez - Well, my friend, I think I just need to keep outbidding you. ;)

@frozen - Awesome collection! Wow, very cool to see all those together, and you even had the acid blood Aliens. Looking forward to Mondo's reissue of Alien. Hoping it matches the art design of their other releases. Prometheus is great, I need to spin it again.

ImageStar Trek - The Motion Picture

My first La-La Land vinyl purchase, and I am pretty stoked by what I am seeing and hearing so far. The cover artwork is very pleasing to the eye in person, but the full color booklet inside with the original LP artwork is a total delight:

Excellent and well-written liner notes on the first two pages, and check out this incredible multi-page feature:
In the following track-by-track guide, each cue title is followed by its identifying number (either reel/part number or scene number), slate number (indicating the overall scoring session order) and 1979 recording date.
Also, a scene description for each track, as well as track-specific notes! Amazing presentation. The sleeve is made from a very thin cardboard though, which feels like a miss to me. The two heavy 180gm vinyl discs along with the thick booklet pretty much have their way with the thin sleeve. Mine is creased all over just from shipping in a standard oversized mailer with solid padding. A thick Stoughton gatefold sleeve would have sent the overall package to the moon. The mastering sounds AMAZING. Blows my (well used) original LP out of the water, but my copy has been played countless times. There is some light surface noise audible on the really quiet parts, but I need to give this beautiful haze/swirl vinyl a solid cleaning. Also, it's transparent vinyl which seems to be helping:

Listening in headphones, and I'm not distracted by any surface noise, as my ear is thrilled with the clear sound reproduction. It feels like I'm listening to this again for the first time. Really happy with this release.

@deaf, Great package description, although I must say I didn't notice the sleeve being thin. Sometimes the thicker cardboard sleeves aggravate me when a record wont slip back in smoothly so I tend to lean towards the thinner. But of course all that is just a personal liking sort of thing. Can't wait to put it on the table. You've made me really excited to spin it tonight. :)

First shipment from LITA spring cleaning sale netted me an extremely cheap copy of Egisto Macchi's "Biologia Animale e Vegetale"....also the first library recording of my collection, which I probably wouldn't'be picked up if it wasn't for this site and your collecyions/recommendations....and it's been spinning non-stop! Also got a copy of Miles Brown's "Seance Fiction" on DWR.....the second shipment should be here any day, 9 more lp's to enjoy...
